| The most important thing to remember when purchasing a tiara for general use, is that which ever tiara you think is beautiful, is the tiara that is right for you. Here is a basic overview of the most commonly available tiara types. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Traditional Style: with combs in back This is my favorite style as far as comfort is concerned, it stays well whether your hair is up or down. The combs help keep it in place as well as provide some counterweight in the back so all the rhinestones don't feel so front-heavy. The other feature I like about this style is that the unadorned metal sides can be easily adjusted to custom fit your head. |

| The Comb Only Style This style is good only if you are wearing your hair up. The way this type of tiara is secured in your hair is with a single comb, directly behind the rhinestones. There are no side bands to wrap around your head, a nice feature if you like more elaborate hairstyles, but definitely more difficult to wear because it balances more precariously on top of your head. |

| Full Wrap or Crown Style The crown style, again is best if you are wearing your hair up. Also called a bun wrap, this style looks great with your hair secured in the middle. |

| Partial Wrap Style This style is specifically designed to wear with an updo hairstyle. The band gives it a lot more security than the comb only style, and the comb makes sure you can feel safe moving your head as much as you want, without feeling like your tiara is going to topple off your head. |

The Headband This type of tiara is a great place to start if you are on a limited budget, or a little timid about showing off your inner princess. Headbands come in an amazing variety of styles, including very natural and flowing styles like this one. Many headbands can also be worn as bunwraps. |
