Okay, so I just made up the word “Frizzies” but you get the picture. Frizzy hair is one of the biggest problems girls have to face with their hair. It affects you every time the humidity sneaks up, or even just once in a while when you sleep on it wrong. Unfortunately, sometimes frizzy hair is a way of life, but we’ve uncovered solutions (phew, finally). First of all use a styling wax or pomade, or a product like Redken Glass. These products, when applied after hair has been towel dried, but right before you blow dry, will seriously help the situation. The shampoo and conditioner you use can also make a world of difference, because frizzy hair is often linked with damaged hair. Use a very rich, creamy shampoo and conditioner (conditioning is a very important step and should always be done whenever you shampoo). We recommend Garnier Fructis, preferably for Dry or Damaged Hair. When you do towel dry your hair, remember to squeeze the water out. Grasp sections of hair with your towel and squeeze, working the towel down from the roots to tips. Don’t ever rub your hair dry with a towel. When blow drying your hair use a wide tooth comb to draw out sections of your hair and be sure to fully dry it. For more volume, in addition to no frizzies, flip your head upside down and blow dry the roots until they are dry, then continue as usual. Try and avoid brushing your hair often (if at all) during the day. If you do, don’t use fast, rapid strokes or a bristly brush. Use a round (preferably boar bristle or similar) brush, or even your fingers and use it with slow, careful strokes. Then go through your hair once more with a comb. |
