When Make-Up Meets Dancing Dances are the best, and jamming out to some fast beat can be great. That is, until your make-up that you spent hours on starts to give. Here are some tips to keep on groovin' without the worry of getting that icky sweaty look. Skip foundation altogether because the more makeup you wear, the worse it looks when it starts to smear. Instead, smooth on a clear mattifying lotion, which will soak up excess oil to prevent a slick look. A new one we love: Christian Dior IOD Aqua Powder, $21. Then spot-apply concealer only where you need it. Stick with shimmer-free makeup. Shimmer can leave behind streaks if you start to sweat. Take touch-up breaks. In between your kissing the floor sessions, hit the bathroom and dab your skin with a tissue or powdered blotting paper, then add a little more mattifier. We like Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Blotting Sheets, $13.50. Resist the urge to reach for your pressed powder -- it doesn't remove oil and will make your face look cakey. Go further than usual. If it's gonna be dark and...it's gonna be dark. Deepen the color of the make-up so you can acutally see it. Anything subtle will be lost, trust me. Waterproof it! Usually I wouldn't say to use
waterproof mascara and eyeliner (except in this case and when
you go to an Old Yeller screening) because it is hard to get off,
but man, if you start to sweat...well can you say "raccoon"? |
