| NOBODY IS BEAUTIFUL ANYMORE (MUSCUTT) Burning tower block sunset and everything inside it gone it reminds me of when we met each other Now something good has gone and its only recently I told you how I feel It scares me that one day Ill be running away from you Because the night before it occurred to me that nobody is beautiful anymore Early mist cold morning canal its raining and its strange To think Ive been trying to make a change and its only recently I told you how I feel It scares me that one day Ill be running away from you Because the night before it occurred to me that nobody is beautiful anymore We are all film stars and we all made the grade but every night you lie there crying We are all superstars and you think that weve made it but every day I see you trying Its nobodys fault but our own enigma that comes to haunt me every day That I see in every single person I meet when Im running away from you And the night before I left you it occurred to me that nobody is beautiful anymore Another line taken from the book American Psycho, which I also used a line of in the poem Old Woman. (not included here). This deals with the fact that some people can analyse beautiful people to death and find something ugly with even the most gorgeous of human beings, even if it means an internal blemish or personality trait or something. DISLOCATED (MUSCUTT) Im in no mood to translate these words to you why cant you find out for yourself? I know you keep it locked inside somewhere Its time to let it go its time to let me know that it doesnt make you high And now were fearing our days were wasted in the sunshine turn to rain Collaborate with your dislocated disguise because this trip will surprise you somehow If you cant take it why didnt you say so because its time to let it go time to let it show That now it doesnt get you high and now were fearing our wasted days in the sunshine turn to rain turn to rain Twist inside your careless shell I hope you regret your life I know you keep it inside now its fading away Its time to let it go and time to let him know that he doesnt get you high Or tells you reasons why he wastes your days in the sunshine and hopes for rain This song, if Im right, is about someone pretending their life is really great, when in fact it makes them sad. Its written in a surreal way, with it not that clear what its about. But if you read it through, it becomes easier to understand. |
