| ONLY THIS WAY (MUSCUTT) Oh well Im sorry if you hate me the way I am but this is the way I was made And you know you can leave if you want but somehow I think youll stay Well some people say you like the violence some people say you like the pain And some people mock you for looking in mirrors although that black eye wasnt yours to blame But Im only this way because thats the way that I was made and now youre tied to a chair looking at the blade Thats inches away from your face and if you think thats frightening then take a look at my face The endless bruises and scars wont keep you away you blank it out And I apologise every day and everybody around you is worried for you They just dont see you the way I do love me or hate me youll always come back to me Because you know if you dont itll hurt you it hurts right now Oh yeah it hurts right now like hell but you made the choice youre the one to blame For standing on street corners in the rain This could almost be the second part to Presence, which was about an ex-partner coming back into someones life. This takes it a stage further, as though the relationship has broken down and has become violent. Or alternatively, it could be the song that comes before Presence, detailing how the relationship went bad in the first place. I dont know. Anyway, its pretty uninspiring stuff. O.E. (MUSCUTT) No ones talking seems wrong to quantify these things we feel should qualify Take me down take me down tell me its all wrong Things we breathe underwater sacrifice things we believe in spirits ignore me This feeling scares me its so hard to get away it makes me drown myself and you Happy children make way for closet shame in happy homes the news tells of destruction Violent species and the protest states its name in worlds of evil and confusion And I might just drown and take it down again input theres no input and I think we could be near the end There could be spaces am I dead or sleeping Did anything ever affect your circuits or wires nothing remains but the flames They rise from the pyres of your home no input no direction to release my information We never saw your face in the rain no input no calculation no memorandum no referendum Youll never equal what you used to be in my eyes The title stands for Oscar Tango which comes from the phonetic alphabet or something, the one the Royal Mail use when you ring up for postcode enquiries. Its a surreal song, very odd. Ive no idea what its about, if anyone has any theories, Id be glad to hear them. |
