Okay, once again it's been far too long since my last update. Of course, you have to keep in mind that I was gone offshore again for close to eternity. 26 days this time. Once again I missed several flamingo gatherings. And it was nice to come home to find that someone had the courtesy to vomit in my bed and leave it for me. What a wonderful present. It did so brighten my day...
But anyways, I digress. Let's get on to some drama. One of the older members of this group, Stevo, has recently moved to Galveston. Which means the mayhem at the lounge is back to an acceptable level. Which brings us to our adventures this last friday. We, being me, Kuda, Darcy and Stevo, decided to go out barhopping. We started at Molly's Pub. I don't know when, probably around 9pm. We all ordered a drink, and proceeded to stare at the wall behind the bar. Where there are ~60 beers on tap. Someone brought up the idea of doing a "power-hour" of these beers. For those of you unfamiliar with what a power-hour is, I'll explain. One shot of beer every minute for 60 minutes. This translates to 5 beers in an hour. We all laughed about it, until Stevo began to get serious and asked the bartender if he could do that. Soon, it was decided to begin. One shot of beer every minute for an hour. Me, Kuda and Stevo. Darcy was only a spectator. The first few rounds went well. We were all having fun. Good times. Of course, you have to realize it's a little difficult to pour 1 oz of beer when it's on tap. These were some very large shots of beer. We got to the halfway point and Kuda had to excuse himself to use the bathroom. And he did not return for several minutes. Upon his return he informed us that he was no longer participating. It was down to me and Stevo. We both emerged as victorious! And Stevo was nice enough to tell me that I am a god to him now. And that I should start my own cult. I guess my tolerance for alcohol is a little higher than his is, as he appeared to be a bit inebriated by the end of the adventure. Good times. Good times had by all. |

Well, that's pretty much all the drama that's fit to print, lord knows there is always more that isn't. For an update on that drama, contact the nearest Flamingo. As always, all drama is generally heard second or third hand, so take everything with a grain of salt, and don't believe everything you read. |
