Chubby Turkey
Materials:
Small amounts of size 10 crochet thread in brown, ecru and goldenrod
dab of fabric glue
black dimensional paint or very small wiggly eyes
Size 5 steel crochet hook
gauge is not critical
Beginning chain counts as first stitch in rows, but NOT in rounds.
Body:
Rnd 1: With brown, chain 5. Slip stitch to first chain to for m ring. Chain 3, work 20 tr in ring. Join w/ss to top of first tr (NOT beg chain)
Row 1: Chain 4, tr in same stitch as beg. chain. Work 2 tr in next 16 tr. Leave last 3 sts unworked. Fasten off.
Feathers:
Row 2: Join Goldenrod with ss in top of beg chain of Row 1. Chain 6, dc in same stitch. Skip 1 tr, *work (dc, ch 3, dc) in next tr. Skip next tr. Repeat from * across. Work (dc, ch 3, dc) in top side of last tr. Fasten off.
Feet: Join Goldenrod with ss in first unworked tr of Rnd 1. (Sc, ch 3, sc, ch 3,sc) in same stitch. Skip next tr, and work (sc, ch 3, sc, ch3, sc) in next stitch. Fasten off.
Head:
Rnd 1: With ecru, chain 4. Join w/ss to form ring. Work 12 dc in ring. Joinw/ss to top of first dc. Fasten off.
Beak: Join Goldenrod w/ ss in any stitch of Rnd 1 of head. Chain 2. In same stitch work dc, chain 2, ss. Fasten off.
Glue head to center top of Row 2 on body with beak pointing down. Glue on wiggly eyes or paint two dots for eyes, using photo as placement suggestion. |
