THE INSIGNIFICANCE OF THE FAR, DISTANT HOWLER
by The Doc
Hundreds of people work in front and behind the cameras of Stargate SG-1.
Authors, producers, actors, crew, catering, camera, set production, SFX, make-up - thank you, guys.

Thousands of people create this online fandom. 2500, I read somewhere. Not all of them take active part in cyber life, of course, but still. Hello to all I know.

And then there are
millions and millions of people enjoying our favourit TV show, watching Stargate, all over the planet - from the USA to Bulgaria, from Japan to Malaysia and Australia to Germany.

Hundreds, thousands, millions - compared to 13 people I have on my "List Of People I Avoid Online". 13. It's a well-balanced list, in case you wondered, a pretty nice mixture of Shanks-bashers and Mallozzi-dislikers, people who spend a good part of their days talking about people they *don't* like (which is a bit odd); plus two gentlemen who, I'm absolutely sure about that, must be aliens from the planet of dork.

So, what are those 13 compared to millions? Insignificant.

Which means I can sit here, allow myself to be happy about the fact that Stargate is back for a 7th season, a movie and a spin-off are in the works, Michael Shanks is coming back, Amanda Tapping is going to direct an episode and RDA will not retire. I'm looking forward to good stories, and, like millions of others, simply enjoy the show.

So this is Merry Christmas from me to those hundreds, thousands and millions. May Santa fill your stockings with all the goodies you long for and deserve. :-)
