| Jolly ol' London was the 7th stop on the tour. Pikachu greeted (to the relief of everyone, except Pikachu) a smaller crowd of 10 000 excited fans. Pikachu made his usual speech, this time, dressed like one of the Queen's Guards in front of the Tower of London. But, another pika-napping was attempted. An older man leapt to the stage, grabbed Pikachu, and ran. Security was on him, and he was roughly "escorted" from the premesis. I spoke with Pikachu (or Pikachu's translator) about the incident, later: P.I: Pikachu, what happened back there? Why didn't you shock him? Pikachu: (Why should I shock him? I've got security, they'll take care of him.) P.I: You weren't scared? Pikachu: (No. Why should I be scared? If he actually did get away, I can shock him anyway!) P.I: What do you think your friends, like Ash, thought? Pikachu: (I'm sure they were worried about me. Ash knows I can take care of myself, though, so that probably helped him. I should go find him.) P.I: Are you going to make contact with your fans again? Pikachu: (Of course! They're not bad, it's just the few who want to pika-nap me who spoil it for the rest.) P.I: Thank-you, Mr. Chu. Pikachu: (Yep, anytime.) I spoke with a member of security later, who was also veiled from the nose down. A young man, probably near twenty years old, with unkept golden-blond hair parted down the middle. He stood at what had to be just over 6 feet and wore an old-fashoned tunic colored a deep, forest green over a white linen shirt and tights with a matching hat which came to a point and hung between his shoulder-blades. His tights tucked into plain, brown leather boots which looked like they had been put through their paces many times. A brown strap was slung accross his left shoulder, and the blue-and-gold hilt and crossguard of a finely crafted sword was visible. He had sharp looking blue eyes and ears which extended in points nearly past the top of his head, and he spoke with an old fashoned, English-sounding accent. P.I: Excuse me, sir, do you have a moment for a quick interview. Security: . . . I suppose I have a moment , yes. P.I: That's the second pika-napping attempt of the tour! What are you guys going to do now? Security: All we can do. We'll fight for Pikachu's safety -it is our reason for being here now- but we can only do so much in a crowd of thousands without harming innocents. P.I: Good point. What do you think about Pikachu being this close to his fans? Security: I find it wonderful that Pikachu wishes to be close to the ones that made him famous, but if there's one thing I can tell you for certain, it's darkness wears many masks. In a crowd as large as the ones I've seen of late, anyone could be plotting against Pikachu. If you are asking if I am worried for his safety, I answer yes. I fear for his life. P.I: But Pikachu's not helpless. He can take care of himself. I heard those exact words from Pikachu himself. Security: I once had the same type of attitude toward battle. It landed me in grave danger. I don't doubt that Pikachu can fend for himself, but never underestimate what one plotting against you is capable of. Trust me. P.I: Okay, I'm sure most of your comrades would agree. Now where do you guys get your security? Security: Now that I cannot reveal to you at this time. (no comment.) P.I: Why did I guess you were about to say that? Can I get your name, for future reference? Security: Pikachu has told us all specificly not not mention our names. I'm sorry. But (looks around) . . . my title is "Hero of Time" if that makes a difference for you. P.I: Okay . . . thanks for the clue, I guess. Thank-you for your time, sir. Security: (Bows slightly) May the blessings of Farore follow you always and bring fortune to the roads you may yet travel. |
