Episode 1: Scene 2 Sounds of Salsa
The towel she wielded held very little effect on the water rings left on the table, this was obvious to anyone who passed by. In fact, it was quiet obvious that she wasn't paying the least bit of attention to what she was doing at all. The upturned grin on her face and the faraway look in her eyes gave that detail away immediately. No, Tina's mind was on much more interesting things. Interesting things like what it would be like to seduce her boss. And at that moment she was cooking up a very steamy scenario. "Tina?" "Mmmm... " Tina sighed, blissfully. She just loved the way he said her name when she nibbled his earlobe. She wondered what he'd do if she decided to focus a bit lower. "Tina!!" her boss called out, nearly shouting. "Wha...." Tina cried, out in astonishment as she was broken out of her reverie. Her hand going to cover her throat in attempt to restrain her rapidly beating heart. Crash!!!!
Both of them looked down in dismay at the shattered remains of a tall marguarita glass that Tina knocked over.
She was both dismayed and relieved to see Adrian, and not Mateo standing there staring at her with an amused expression on his face. Still, there was nothing she could do to hide her flushed appearance from him.
"Oh...damn...I'm sorry about..." she stammered, avoiding his curious gaze. Adrian chuckled softly. "You were about a million miles away there.....I hope whatever you were daydreaming about was good."
Her blush only intensified, and she moved to cover it by stooping down to start cleaning up the mess at their feet. Quickly Adrian moved to help her, taking the towel she held , and beckoning her aside to carefully pick up the larger pieces of broken glass. "Whatever it was....I hope I had a starring role." he murmured, as he smiled up at her. Red faced, Tina glared at him. Immediately, her mind flashed back to Edmund Grey's Crystal Ball, where he had grabbed her and kissed her. Her gaze dropped to his mouth, her lips parting slightly at the memory of the feel of his lips on hers. It wasn't her imagination working overtime, when he moved slightly closer to her....his focus also on her mouth. Her flight or fight response kicked in. She chose flight. "I'm going to run and get a broom." she said, too quickly for him not to realize she was looking for an escape. Adrian sat back on his heels watching her hasty retreat to the storeroom with a small grin spreading across his face. He loved teasing her, but that was all. Of course, he liked her. She was cute and had a hot little body, but unfortunately she was hung up on Mateo Santos. Still, there was no reason why he couldn't help her get over him...but true to his code- Adrian Sword would remain uninvolved.
No way, was he getting himself into another Belinda situation. Nah, he'd just have a little fun with Tina and make sure she didn't take things seriously. Not that there was any risk of that, he reminded himself, since all Tina could seem to think about was Mateo. A thought that adequately managed to bring his pride down a peg or two. Still, he knew if anyone was going to get her over her little infatuation with Matt, it would be him.
"Hey, man...what happened over here?" Mateo himself, asked eyeing the mess on the floor. "I knocked a glass out of Tina's hand." "You know that's coming out of you cut of the profits." Mateo joked "Yeah, right." Adrian tossed back with a small laugh. Mateo raised an eyebrow, a slow grin spreading across his face. "So, what's going on with you two anyway?" Evasive, Adrian questioned " Who ?" "You and Tina." he clarified. "Uhhh..." Adrian stammered, before opting to change the subject"Did anything interesting go down at the meeting with the zoning commision ?" "Nah...everything was smooth sailing ....we got the go ahead to open up the sidewalk Siesta cafe." "See, I told you there would be no problem." Mateo grinned. "You know you're not off the hook yet about Tina." he reminded his co-partner. "I have no idea who left this broom in the employee bathroom. It took me all day to find it." Tina announced, as she made her way back to where the two men stood. "Hi, Mateo." she said, her tone breathless all of a sudden as she smiled up at him. "Hey, Tina." Mateo replied casually. "Look, I have to go make a few calls. I'll see you two later." "Bye Boss." Tina chimed in, ignoring Adrian's smirk.
Because there wasn't much business in the club at the moment, the two finished sweeping up the glass quickly. Tina was thrilled Adrian had decided to drop his prior conversation, but her happiness was short lived. On her way to dump the contents of the dustpan, Adrian stilled her with a hand on her forearm.
"Hey, Tina..." " What?" "What do you say to meeting me for a late dinner tonight.?" Tina looked at him, her face frozen in suprise. Someone walking by bumped her, managing to break her trance. "I'm not sure that's such a good idea." "Why not? We both have to eat ." he told, undaunted. She shook her head at him. "I don't think..." Adrian moved closer to her, suprising her by brushing his lips across her cheek. "Be ready to go at ten... I'll be there to pick you up whether you're dressed or not." The look he gave her before he walked off made her certain, that he'd be more than happy to find her undressed. With a tiny grin on her face, Tina went to go dump the broken glass in the trash can.
