she cries as the sun retreats from the sky
chasing the day into the hallowed night
her eyes widen as she screams with no sound
she watches him lowered into the ground
the radio will still play their sweet song
the stars will come even though he is gone
and they will linger well into daybreak
twinkling so slightly as the sun awakes
opens her eyes to a sweet summer breeze
gentle wind dancing through the still wet leaves
smiles at the memory of his sweet touch
not knowing then it would mean so much
longs for the lips that left so soft a kiss
and holds him tightly, the child that is his
