| This is Lexie! She is a sweet little Shih Tzu girl of "middle age". She was found as a stray by a kind soul who picked her up and saved her life. She was overgrown with hair even growing into her mouth. She has three legs and like most little Shih Tzus, she is tiny and short and wouldn't have lasted long on her own. The Heart of Jackson Humane Society in Holton, Kansas fostered her, and with the help of Kansas City's No More Homeless Pets coalition they found Lexie a "forever home" with my neighbor Donna. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| These are the two fantastic rescue ladies that brought Lexie to her new home with Donna and Sadie (see Sadie's page). They are pictured here with two or their own dogs, who are also rescues. Isn't it wonderful that there are people that will work so hard to save a little, not-so-young, 3-legged doggy! There were more people involved in getting her from Holton, KS to Kansas City, but I don't know their names. Bless the recue workers! | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| This is Ms. Lexie meeting her new forever Mom, Donna, who is my neighbor. I don't know if you can tell it, but this is love at first sight. Donna is the best possible Mom for Lexie cause she didn't waste time feeling sorry for her, but got right down to loving her to death. After a warning growl or two, Ms. Lexie got right down to lovng Donna and trying to take over the household, which Sadie the Poodle will not allow! | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| This is me holding Ms. Lexie and feeling like crying because she was only born with 3 legs. I would NOT be the right mama for her. She is very feisty, very very affectionate and I know will bring Donna years of devotion and love! HAPPY ENDING!!! |

| You can see Ms. Lexie's shortened little leg in this photo, but you can also see that it hardly slows her down a bit. She got around the patio to greet everyone! No problemo! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
