| Some of our youth found this little guy alone, except for the ants, on a walkway at a nearby school and brought him home to me. We searched for a nest but only found another baby that was dead on the roof of the school. At first I was sure he would die, he was bald and made no noise but was very willing to eat, only I had no idea what to feed him. After much research on the web I learned of all the care he needed, thank goodness because I was clueless, and as you can see he is now thriving. He has made himself right at home here and has found a very special place in our hearts. We call him Duckie because he reminds me of the Ugly Duckling. When we first found him he was so bald and his beak was very yellow and huge and it all seemed so hopeless. But the more I read, the more I became aware of his beautiful potential and have been amazed by his quick development. And look at him now - He's a beauty!! |
