Sept '03 - Barney, the feral cat befriended by Jack Vargo, climbed high into a pine tree to escape the panther which has been roaming in Pine Lakes.  He spent two days & nights up there, enduring thunder and lightning, until a man from Southwest Tree Service climbed up and brought him down.  How nice to be on terra firma, again!
Maria Moretti, our featured resident for September '03, spent much of her life working as a seamstress.  She moved to Pine Lakes in 1982, and has pursued a life filled with activities in the park, and in the community.  Also, although retired, she is still sewing!
Sept '03 - Kathy Chennault bought a home in Pine Lakes, to be near her parents. She has been busy remodelling and improving her home.  Kathy had an artist paint these murals in her bathroom.
Sept '03 - LaCee, a three year old Schnauzer, is the Steging's other canine companion.
Sept '03 - Rainey is a five year old Sheltie, one of the two dogs owned by Gloria and Craig Steging.
Oct, '03 - Ray Clift, a resident of Pine Lakes for 24 years, moved into Pinecrest Adult Care Home almost two years ago, where he was visited daily by his wife, Annette, who still lives in Pine Lakes.  These photos show Ray celebrating his 91st birthday on Aug. 31, plus an outing to the Golden Corral Buffet on Ray & Annette's 30th wedding aniversary, Sept. 8.

On Sept. 27, Ray was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, and when he got better, Ray was sent to Las Fuentes Care Center.  However, in spite of the good care and therapy he was receiving, Ray passed away on Oct. 28.
He will be missed!
