| MY FAVOURITE BANDS ok,so here is some info about just a few of my favourtie bands (i bet that surprised you) Anyway here they all are, in no particular order... |
| The Calling are a rock band from L.A. They have been together 5 years, but only released their Cd in 2002. When they first started there were 5 members, but now there is only Alex Band (singer/songwriter) and Aaron Kamin (guitarist/songwriter) Claire bought there Cd ages ago, and i think she got annoyed with me borrowing it, so i bought my own. They only have two albums out at the mo,called Camino Palmero and Two. SONGS TO CHECK OUT: Stigmatized Adrienne,For You, which is Wherever you will Go, One by One and Anyting Rating: 7/10! | BAND OF THE MOMENT |
| In this part of the site i will feature a new band i found out about so i can tell you all what i think about them! (lucky you!) |
| Lifehouse are my favourite band. They just realised their 3rd album "Lifehouse" after a bit of a bumpy road. Sean and Serge (the founding bass player) both left the band,
and they were droppped from their label befor being picked up by Geffen. Then they hired a new bassist, Bryce Sodeburg.
The new album is fantastic, probably my favourite LH album. I cant recommend this band enough!
Just go listen! Check out the Lifehouse section! see the concert review from September SONGS TO CHECK OUT:Hanging by a moment, Take me away and Quasimodo, Wash and Spin, Better Luck next time, Blind, Come Back Down, Into the Sun and Walking Away Rating: 10/10 |

| Another band I can't get enough of at the mo is "Maroon 5". They're going to be huge! You might have heard their songs "Harder to breathe" and "This Love" on the radio, or maybe not, either way it's fantastic! There album "songs about Jane" is fantastic, they can be described as rock with a pinch of Jazz and blues (definitley a great combination) John Mayer - another great musician and friend of the band - even joined them on a track! The band is made of Adam Levine - Vocals, Guitar, James Valentine - Guitar, Jesse Carmichael - Keyboards, Mickey Madden - Bass, and Ryan Dusick - Drums. CLick on the picture to go to one of the coolest websites ever! WOOO! ME and Claire are going to see them live on the 8th of October again! See the concert reviews from March and October |
| I really should have kept a back catalougue of bands of the moment, butI never did, so here's who I can remember : Von Ray, Lifehouse, Maroon 5, Live, Greenwheel Dishwalla, The Rocket Summer Deafult, Our Lady Peace,Matchbox -20, Switchfoot, ZED, Radford, Powderfinger and there were loads loads more but i cant rmemeber who it was. |
| Another band I'm a huge fan of is Greenwheel. They have 2 albums out at the mo. Their debut release was Soma Holiday, a fantastic album! And there is also the soma holida indie release (avaliable from their website) which was recorded before they were signed. The band had recorded a second album with Island records shortly before being dropped by the label (and their drummer left soon after) and are currently looking for another label (all the luck with that!) So i guess at the mo they are a local band from St. Louis Missouri. Greenwheel are a seriously underrated rock band. Check them out!! I dont really know how to describe them, probably a mix between muse and incubus? The band are Ryan Jordan (vocals), Brandon Armstrong (Bass), Andrew Dwiggins (Guitar), & Marc Wanninger (Guitar) Rating 9/10 Songs to check out: Breathe, Dim Halo, Drowning Man, The End, Sticks and Stones, Resolve |
| Gavin DeGraw is a New York based solo rock/piano artist. I guess if you wanted to describe his music it's sort of Maroon 5 meets John Mayer meets Jamie Cullum. Not usually what I would go for but I heard "I dont wanna be" at the start of One Tree Hill and I loved it so i bought the album a wee while ago. Tis a great album! Some of the highlights are "Belief", "Follow Through" and "More than Anyone" Rating 8/10 |
