Fishing
season opens mid-May on Lake Kabetogama and at the
first signs of spring, this area is bursting with wildlife!
Join us during the sunny summer months to explore
Voyageurs National Park and cruise Lake Kabetogama
looking for that monster catch! You'll enjoy the many scenic
hiking and biking trails as well as the outstanding walleye,
northern pike and smallmouth bass fishing!
Enjoy the plentiful berries, wildflowers and
do a little birding as you explore the quiet, remote wilderness
of Voyageurs National Park. Unique to these waterways are the
historic Kettle Falls Hotel and Ellsworth Rock Gardens,
both worth a visit during your stay.
Other local attractions include the Vince
Shute
Black Bear Wildlife Preserve, the International Wolf Center in Ely,
three 18 hole golf courses and sport clay shooting. And you may
enjoy shopping nearby in International Falls or Fort Frances,
Canada.
We are also proud to offer you day and overnight trips
to secluded interior lakes which almost guarantee you sightings
of deer, beaver, otter, loons and maybe even bear and moose too!

Starting in September, upland game
hunting is in its prime
as ruffed grouse and woodcock season opens. Northern Minnesota
boasts of thousands of acres of public hunting land with miles of
perfect trails for the novice or expert bird hunter. Fall also
offers
some spectacular fishing days as the large female walleyes begin to
bite.
Nothing beats a warm fall day on Lake Kabetogama to enjoy the
excellent fishing action while taking in the brilliant fall colors!

The temperature
drops and snow begins to fall as the area
welcomes the quiet season of winter. Cross-country skiing,
ice fishing and snowmobiling are just beginning. This area is perfect
for those seeking a glimpse into the privacy only a national park
can offer. Bring your snowshoes along and explore your way into
the quiet, remote wilderness of Voyageur country.

The snowmobile
trails in our area are unmatched anywhere.
The Arrowhead Trail is located less than 100 yards from
Pine Aire's cabins and is a major trailhead linked to over
500 miles of smooth, wooded and lake groomed trails.
With and average snowfall of over 100" combined with trails
being groomed twice weekly, you are almost guaranteed
excellent conditions! Moose, timber wolf and deer sightings
are not uncommon while crossing these trails.
