PINE CHRISTIAN SINGLES
FEBRUARY - MARCH 2008
“Our only goal is to please
God.” 2 Cor 5:9 NCV
Christmas is now over, and
a new year has begun. Going away to
Club Solo was a good opportunity to meet other singles. I attended the second half of the camp, and
caught up with people I know, and made new friends. The Solo camp was held a little earlier than usual, and was
situated in a bush setting at Brookfield, about 25km from the Brisbane
CBD. Despite the wet weather, it was a
good opportunity to chill out for a few days.
A few members of our own PCS group stayed for part of the time, or
visited for the day, and joined in the outings on the program. One went on the bus trip to see the Rodeo,
while another came to camp to go to Sea World, or catch up with friends at the
camp itself. Someone from another singles
group came along to the River Cruise on the Friday night, and enjoyed the
night. At this camp, I was involved
doing some PR for PCS, and I was glad to see that the copies of our program
left on the table were all been taken by the last day of camp.

Do You Wanna Dance?
Remember Cliff's
hit from the 60's...I'm sure most of us do.
Last year, I went
to many of the Bush Dances and the Learn to Dance Classes. For someone who
loves music but has, (had) two left feet, I have really enjoyed these nights.
Jenny, our Learn to Dance instructor is just great, and patient too, and seems
to give us just the right level of challenge to get our feet going. It's
great fun. Also, the fellowship and supper make for a very enjoyable
evening. Thank you Jenny.
Likewise, the Bush
Dances have been an enjoyable dance/social experience for me.
I actually went to the Redcliffe Over 40's Dance Club last November (with a group from PCS), and, surprise, surprise, I could do a fair few of the dances. So if you've been thinking about coming to some of the Dance nights...give it a go... you will enjoy it.

The
bike ride day turned out quite good. There were only four who turned up
to ride but four others turned up to keep us company, then many more joined us
at 5.30pm for the dinner at RSL about 15-20 people. A little bit of
excitement with the meal, the Lamb Roast was off so they replaced our meals
handsomely, some had T-bone or Fillet which was twice the price of what the
Lamb was, I had the Beer Battered Fish & Salad and it was beautiful.

The latest to tie the knot from within our number are Errol and
Lindy. Wedding was on Australia Day (no
excuse for forgetting this one) in the Uniting Church at Bribie Is. They added their own special touch by
singing a love song duet to each other.
Wedding reception lunch was held in nearby Church of
Christ Hall. Guests were entertained
with dancing display by the Bride and Groom, both keen dancers. Others soon joined in.
Congratulations Errol and Lindy, and Blessings for your
future together.
