The RSVP date on the invitations says to respond by April 7th, 2006- This is incorrect! The actual date to RSVP by is April 17th!!! :)
We apologize for the length of time it has taken us to update- we've had computer issues! But we are back and have new information to share with everyone! :) We bought our wedding rings on New Year's Day and ordered our invitations today! You can expect to receive one (invitation, not rings :)) sometime in late February or early March. :)
We've decided to have to ceremony in the area that I grew up in. The church is actually on the same street as my mom's new house! The ceremony will begin at 3pm on May 13th, 2006. We've also decided to do a non-denominational wedding, as our families are of different religions. We were to be married by the U.S. Coast Guard Chaplain, but due to circumstances out of our control we will no longer be able to. The reception will be held about 6 miles away from the church, at the Doherty Hotel in Clare, MI. The reception will begin with a cocktail hour, beginning at 4pm, and dinner will be served between 5pm and 6:30pm. We have decided on a menu, but you'll have to come to the wedding to find out what it is!! :) To see pictures of the reception site, please click here.
Also, the hotel has offered to hold an entire wing of rooms for the wedding party and guests of our wedding, if you are interested in a room, please contact the Doherty Hotel (phone: 1-877-236-4378). The hotel needs to know well in advance how many rooms will be needed. The rooms are reasonably priced, ranging from $52 a nite to $135 per nite. We finally picked out a cake on 11/11/2005. It's gorgeous, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!! Again, if you want to see it, you'll just have to come to the wedding! :)
We have recently registered with the Bridal Registry at Bed, Bath and Beyond and also at Target. It is something new, that eliminates (or at least minimizes) returning gifts. It's basically a guideline of some things that we would enjoy receiving as wedding gifts. We do not, however, expect to receive all or even some of the gifts on our registry. (The woman that helped us had us putting all kinds of things on the registry!!) Anyway, feel free to get us anything you want, regardless of whether or not it is on the registry- you don't have to get us anything, if you don't want! :) To access our registry at Bed, Bath and Beyond, click here.
