Street Fighter 2 Figure Mods
This webpage is a quick write up of some figurine modifications
I made to my Gottlieb Street Fighter 2 pinball machine.
Step One
Acquire some SF2 figurines.
I found mine as redemption prizes at a local Putt-Putt Golf & Games. Think they were about "15 tickets" a pop,
but the employee was sympathetic and gave me the entire set for free. These figures are roughly 1 inch tall.
Keep an eye open, these shouldn't be too hard to find!
Step Two
Paint Figurines
Simple enough. Get some water based paint and add a little bit of color to these bland things.

Dhalsim's skin is two parts white to one part red and one part black.
Blanka's skin is one part white to one part "bright blue".
There! That's MUCH better now!
Step Three
Get surface protectors
This is how we're gonna stick these guys in the machine. If you look at the picture above,
you will notice clear circles glued to the bottom of their feet. The circles are made to put on
the bottom of vases or lamps or anything else you want to place on a wooden surface without
scratching it. One side of the circle is adhesive, and the other side is very soft and rubbery.
Glue the figurines to the non-sticky side with some clear epoxy.
(Note: Blanka, Zangief, and E. Honda straddle two circles)
This package contained 20 .75" diameter circles and cost about $4. You'll have to excuse the blurry photo.
Step Four
Stick figures in machine
Now you have to decide where you want the figurines in your machine.
Obviously they won't stand up to any ball hits, so they need to be placed on top of playfield plastics.
The adhesive side of the circles is sticky enough to make a very tight bond with the plastics
but still easily removed if you decide to take the figurines out one day.
Here are some pictures of where I placed the figurines.
