Happily Ever After

(This is the last story in the crossover trilogy. For all you who don't know the background of Casey/Sara or Luis/Sheridan… here it is.)

Chapter 1

Rachel Mitchum was tucking her younger sister, Christine Danielle, into bed, when Christine said, "Rachel, can you tell me a story?"
"Um… sure, honey," Rachel responded. "Once upon a time…

…there was a young damsel in distress, whose name was Sara. Lady Sara had fled the Eastern Kingdom because she was being abused by King Blythe. Little did she know that when she made her way to another kingdom, a knight in shining armor was waiting for her. Casey-as he was called-was waiting for people to save, people to help. One day, he was listening to the radio, and he heard about Lady Sara. This knight decided to help her. And he did.

Well, Lady Sara felt like a failure, because the king had cruelly abused her so. Casey, always ready to help, helped her feel special, and helped her to move on. At any rate, you could tell that Sara was falling for her knight. And why wouldn't she? He was handsome, nice, and always willing to risk his life. They were becoming closer every minute, and one day, he invited Lady Sara to come with him on a cruise. Well, the evil sorceress Melinda, who hated Lady Sara, came along. She was another reason Sara left the Eastern Kingdom. Melinda was "supposed" (key word here: supposed) to be Lady Sara's best friend, but she was only out to make a fool of her. So, being evil as she is, Melinda drugged Lady Sara and her knight and posed them as if they were having an affair... and took pictures. Well, when they came to, scantily clad, the room was upside down. Why? The ship had been hit with a tidal wave and had capsized. After putting on some decent clothing, they tried to get out of the ship. And they did, though Lady Sara nearly died from that condition--you know, when you go up to the surface of the ocean too fast, your blood gets nitrogen in it or something. Anyway, guess whom they found up at the surface…

"Melinda!" Christine exclaimed.
"That's right," Rachel said. She took a deep breath as she continued the story of their parents' fateful relationship, and as she did, their brother, Andrew (who is also Rachel's twin brother), came in. "Need a break, Rachel?" he asked.
"Um… yeah. I'm telling Christine a bedtime story. Do you want to take over?"
"Okay. Do I know it?"
"You should. Christine will tell you where I left off," Rachel explained, with a wink.
"Okay, Rachel. See ya." Rachel left the room and Andrew sat on the edge of his sister's bed. "Hey Chrissy." Andrew smiled, and so did Christine. "So, where did Rachel leave off?"
"Well, she was on the part where the evil sorceress Melinda met Lady Sara and the Knight in Shining Armor at the surface of the ocean."
"Oh… okay." Now Andrew knew what to tell Christine.

Well, after they met at the surface, the witch had a roll of film, where the pictures of Lady Sara and the knight were. So they tried to take it away from her, but when she went to get the pictures, there was a shark, and she got eaten by the shark. Even though Melinda was gone, they were still in danger. You see, they were in the middle of the ocean, and it was really cold. So they held on to a piece of debris for dear life, and by the next morning, they washed up on a deserted island. There was nothing there except a radio, and they paged the people on the mainland that they were okay. It turns out there was an earthquake and that's why there was a tidal wave. Anyway, they got off the island quickly because Lady Meg--Sara's sister--and her tall, dark, mysterious fiancé had rescued them.

"And then what?" Christine asked.
"You know what? I really don't know," Andrew confessed. (Of course, he was just doing that to keep her in suspense.) "Someone else might know tomorrow," he said, winking. "You better go to bed now. It's way past your bedtime," he told her, noticing her yawn. "Good night."
"'Night, Uncle Andy." Christine drifted off to sleep.

~next night~
"So, who's going to tell me the rest of the story?" Christine asked.
"I think I will," Sara, Christine's mother, volunteered. They went into Christine's bedroom and she got into bed. "So, what happens after they're rescued?"
"Well… it's a long story," she began.

Lady Sara and her knight were falling deeper and deeper in love. One day, it just happened… they found out. So they got together. They were both really happy about it. Lady Sara thought that she had finally met the man of her dreams, the one she was going to spend the rest of her life with. There was just one problem… Lady Sara was insecure about her knight's feelings for her sister, Lady Meg. Lady Meg and the knight had been best friends since before Lady Sara and Casey, the knight, even knew each other. So she devised some plans with Lord Tim, a childhood friend. But Lord Tim was not exactly righteous. Lady Sara lied to her knight over and over and over again. At the same time, their relationship was getting more and more serious. Lying was the one thing the knight hated the most. Now, Lord Tim wanted to get back at the Cummings ladies, so he "subtly" told the knight what happened. And he was devastated. He broke up with Lady Sara and she was so depressed…

::Flashback::

A few weeks after the big breakup, Sara took a walk on the beach, very, very depressed. She thought Casey would never know. But stupid Tim… he had to ruin everything. Now she would never have a chance with Casey. She'd seen him a few times over the past weeks, but it was painful. He wouldn't look at her the way he used to. Suddenly, she looked up and saw him, standing on top of the lifeguard tower.

Baby, set me free from this misery
I can't take it no more
Since you ran away, nothing's been the same
Don't know what I'm living for
Here I am, so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here, baby
Miss you, want you, need you so
Until you're back here, baby, yeah
There's a feeling inside I want you to know
You are the one and I can't let you go

So I told you lies, even made you cry
Baby, I was so wrong
Boy*, I promise you, now my love is true
This is where my heart belongs
'Cause here I am, so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here, baby
Miss you, want you, need you so
Until you're back here, baby, yeah
There's a feeling inside I want you to know
You are the one and I can't let you go

And I wonder…
Are you thinking of me, 'cause I'm thinking of you
and I wonder…
Are you ever coming back in my life?
'Cause here I am, so alone
And there's nothing in this world I can do

Until you're back here, baby
Miss you, want you, need you so
Until you're back here, baby, yeah
There's a feeling inside I want you to know
You are the one and I can't…

Until you're back here, baby
('til you're back here, baby) x3
There's a feeling inside I want you to know
You are the one and I can't let you go

Sara sighed. For a second--just a split second--Casey looked at her, and then he turned away. She trudged on, a tear falling from each of her eyes.
::Story::

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Kingdom, there was another king. His daughter, Princess Sheridan, who had been living in another kingdom, had come home. She was in her carriage when it came screeching to a halt. A police officer on a horse had stopped in front of them, threatening to shoot. "What wrong have we done?" Princess Sheridan asked.

"You're going way too fast. Let me see your driver's license," the officer demanded.
"Even if I did, you can't speak to me in that manner. And you most certainly cannot arrest me."
"And why is that?"
"Because, I'm Princess Sheridan, and I own most of this land," she retorted. Usually, the princess wasn't snobby, but when it came to things like that, she had to be. Unfortunately, it landed her in jail.

"And then what?" Christine asked, eagerly.
"You'll just have to wait and see. I don't know this part of the story. You'll have to ask your aunt or your uncle, or one of your cousins," Sara said. "Now I see that you're tired, so you better be sleeping now. Goodnight, Christine," she said, kissing her daughter on the forehead.
"Goodnight, Mommy."
