NEWS STUDYING.
1. Asia IPO Focus: China Telecom Survives Resuscitated
IPO
HONG
KONG -(Dow Jones)- It may have looked on the verge of defeat just weeks ago,
but China Telecom Corp. has managed to pull off its initial public offering
after cutting it down by half and setting the price as low as it possibly can.
Analysts say that while the
stock may be hurt in the short term by poor sentiment - after the offer was
delayed and relaunced earlier this month - its smaller size and the chance to
buy into China's monopoly fixed line operator may offer support.
The stock debuts in the U.S.
on Thursday and in Hong Kong on Friday.

2. AOL Testing Internet Site in China
HONG KONG (Reuters) - More than a year after announcing its plans to enter China, Internet giant AOL has quietly begun testing a pay Internet service in the world's most populous nation, a spokesman said on Tuesday.
Trials of the service, a
joint venture with China's biggest PC maker Legend Group Ltd. (HKSE:0992.HK - News), began in August and are
now taking place in about three dozen Chinese cities, said Rich D'Amato, a
spokesman for AOL, a unit of AOL Time Warner (NYSE:AOL - News).
The new service, whose name
in Chinese translates as "Flying Dragon," now has several hundred
so-called "beta," or test users, most of whom were recruited over the
Internet, he said.
He declined to give a
timetable for the service's official launch.

IQ TEST
STUDYING.
For today Thursday, Suzanne
sent me the result pages translation for check, but she forgot save the files
in HTML, but word DOC. So I can’t see any words of her translation. Because my
system is Chinese vision Win98, so in my system can’t show the Chinese word not
from a formal Chinese system. So for this case, and for she can see my comments
fast, so I just translate them by myself.
And plus Monday and Tuesday
translation: 20 pages questions,
tech support pages, ticket pages, validated pages, analysis pages, we almost
finished the translation of the IQ test.
And also on Wednesday,
Suzanne and me spend much time on checking the IQ questions one by one, and at
last, we decide to change 3 questions that not fit Chinese users, and we really
thought hard to find the similar questions in Chinese style, and we gave 5
questions already.
