For this week, mainly there are four things I did, first is daily news, second is translation with Suzanne, next is weekly meeting and upload my training site.

  1. For this week, I have many things to do with Suzanne together, she translated 8 pages FAQ, and Contact page, and I checked already.

For another thing we did together is the English letter, we discuss the English letter together, and she gave me her comments, and we changed some words, and after that, we show it to Rose, and Rose also gave us her comments, and Suzanne and I discuss the Rose’s comments again, and we thought Rose’s letter is ok, and we are ready to translate it into Chinese, just wait for your confirmation. And we also share the training site information, because now I know we both search the Chinese market information, so we share some information on Wednesday afternoon especially some data and the URL.

Sohu.com posts tiny profit on ads, mobile services

            BEIJING, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Chinese online portal Sohu.com (NasdaqNM:SOHU - News) posted unexpected third-quarter profits on Tuesday as revenues from advertising and fee-based mobile services pushed the firm into the black a quarter ahead of schedule.

 The Beijing-based company turned a net profit of $112,000, or nil cents per share, compared with a loss of $3.1 million, or two cents per share, in the third quarter of 2001. The year-ago period was weighed down by acquisition-related writedowns.

Sohu, which literally means "search fox", said it expected to be profitable for the fourth quarter of 2002 and was on track to become profitable for the entire 2003 fiscal year.

The second news is about China Unicom gave a big bill order for its CDMA development.

China Unicom's Parent Spends CNY9.8 Billion On New Network Equip

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China United Telecommunications Corp., the parent company of Hong Kong-listed China Unicom Ltd. , will be spending CNY9.828 billion to buy network equipment from Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT - News) , Nortel Networks , L.M. Ericsson Telephone Co. and Lucent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:LU - News) .

China Unicom said late Monday the Motorola contract was worth CNY2.9 billion, the Lucent one CNY3.54 billion, the Nortel one CNY2.1 billion and Ericsson's was valued at CNY1.288 billion

China Unicom's parent is buying CDMA telecommunications equipment through joint-venture companies or cooperative companies of these international telecommunication equipment suppliers for the second phase of its CDMA project.

Third is about China Telecom

China Telecom today start sell H share in Hong Kong.

Today China telecom starts sell its H share in Hong Kong. This time, China telecom plan sell 16.8 billion H share, and among them, 0.84 billion will sell in Hong Kong. And IT will enter NYSE and Hong Kong stock on Nov 6th and 7th. And ministry of information industry already said, in the coming three years, the China mainland landline fee will not change.

The fourth is about mobile payment in China.

China Unicom and China mobile already realized that mobile payment is important, so for the competition, they both plan develop this payment system fast. For China Mobile, they plan at the end of this year; they can finish the small bill mobile payment. And China Unicom already sign a contract with bank union to develop mobile payment, and China Unicom said, they will start mobile payment from next year beginning, and In Beijing first. But there is a research from Chinese mobile users, they want to mobile payment and very interesting, but they haven’t confidence of this kind of payment is safety. Just 30% people believe it is safety.

The last news is about Chinese telephone users.

There is a news from ministry of information industry, they said, now, every month in China, the increasing population of mobile users is over 5 million. By the end of Sep, the landline users are 207 million, and mobile users are 190 million.

For this week Chinese internet stock seems stable and have few increasing, I thought because SOHU have its first profit, that news gave many people confidence to believe website company still can earn money.

4.      For this week, I also feel have a nice time in the weekly meeting, because we had a new member join our marketing team, and this meeting, we share many things, and also we learned many things. Like rose gave us a mice presentation make us know more about ANXA and our team is marketing team. And we also learned from the paper about IPE training. Now I have more confidence of our team.

5.       This week, I also find the time to develop my training site. Mainly I did is first I know what is the news page form, so I know the rule already about the news page, and I also upload the partner page and product pages. And before many information I did not put the reference, so for this week, I searched many information again, and add most URL already. So from now I will often share my training site information with Suzanne,

6.      For next week mainly task, next week, I will:

First. Partner letter in Chinese.

Second. Search the assignment you give me about more information on value added service for mobile.

Third. I will prepare a studing paper to our team member about CDMA studing.

Fourth. I will prepare the files about the China Mobile and China telecom.

Fifth, I will continue search about if there is a payment like zingy in China.
