The Pi Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of Baylor University on December 1, 1991. In the Spring and Fall of 1991, the Delta Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha initiated 14 young ladies who showed an interest in being AKA women. These 14 ladies, known as The Ivy League, began what has now been over a decade of service, sisterhood, and scholarship on the campus of Baylor University. Through the years, the sophistAKAted ladies of Pi Mu have upheld the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and continue to provide service to all mankind. Pi Mu works with the Meals on Wheels program, visits the elderly at Jeffrey's Place, and mentors to children at the Youngblood Boys and Girls' Club, where the chapter recently implemented a group reading program. In addition to these regular community projects, the ladies also participate in additional service projects, such as Ivy AKAdemy and the annual Mr. Pink and Green Scholarship Pageant. The Pi Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. continues to be one that is devoted to service, destined to succeed, and dedicated to sisterhood. From those sorors who chartered to even Pi Mu's newest members, serving in the chapter has been an invaluable experience that will be treasured for a lifetime.
