WELCOME TO MY CAREERS SITE!!
Why I'm making this site: In Careers class, everybody has to research a career that they think is sutiable for them. Then we had to interview a person in that field. Next, we had to compile the information we obtained and make a project. This is my project.
|
Over the past few weeks, I've researched the wonderful profession of cardiology. Therefore, I had to find general information in the form of an answer to a question or a response to a statement..
The questions/statements are as follows:
1. Describe 2. Places and opportunities 3. Training, education, and/or experience 4. Job outlook? Why? 5. Competitive? Why? 6. Earning potential 7. Related occupations 8. Michigan schools (3 or as many as you can find, whichever is less) 9. Out-of-state schools (5) 10. Influenced high school classes? Why? 11. Needed personality traits 12. Which traits do you possess? 13. Will this career suit you? Why?
My responses:
1. Cardiovascular techs work in emergency rooms of hospitals, in clinics and in rehabilitation centers. They help doctors who diagnose and treat patients with heart and blood vessel problems. Cardiovascular technologists and cardiovascular technicians usually have different tasks and responsibilities. Technologists typically specialize in one of three areas: invasive cardiology, echocardiography, or vascular technology. 2. Anywhere where people can have heart or circulatory problems. 3. The minimum requirement in a high school diploma with specialized training after that. Additional education includes: two to four months of training with a cardiologist or with an employer, and the technologists receive their training by completing two to four year community college programs. 4. The job outlook is good because there is always demand for people in the medical field because everyone has to get sick sooner or later and the area is expected to grow. 5. The field might be competitive because there arent too many requirements for this job, but not many people want a poorly paid job like this, either. 6. The earning potential depends on how experienced you are. If youre just starting, youll make around $35,000. More experienced people (technicians) make between $40,000 and $65,000 a year. 7. Related occupations include: Dental Assistant Dental Hygienist Doctor Electroneurodiagnostic Tech Medical Imaging Tech Medical Lab Tech Nuclear Medicine Technologist Nurse Paramedic Pharmacy Technician Radiation Therapist Respiratory Therapist Surgical Technologist 8. A college in Michigan I can go to: Carnegie Institute (in Troy) 9. Out-of-state schools I can go to (from careercruising.com username: holly, password: bronchos to log in): Ultrasound Diagnostic School (everywhere) Nova Institute of Technology (California) Central Florida Institute (Florida) University of Toledo (Ohio) State University of New York Upstate Medical University (New York) 10. Influenced high school courses (from careercruising.com): Grade 9 English Mathematics Biology Physical Science Social Studies - Geography Creative Arts Health & Physical Education Computers Grade 10 English Mathematics Biology Physical Science Social Studies - History Computers Grade 11 English Mathematics Biology Chemistry Physics Law & Government Computers Grade 12 English Algebra Calculus Anatomy & Physiology Biology Chemistry Physics Social Studies Economics Computers 11. For almost every career, you need all of the personality traits. 12. I have most of the personality traits; Im just missing a few. 13. This career will suit me because it sounds challenging. I like challenges and my personality fits with this job and I can meet all of the requirements..
