Maybe In My Next Life

Maybe in my next life
Everything wont be so wrong.
I wont be so wrong.
I wont have this temper
That flies and stings maliciously
Whipping words against those I love
And is strong enough to tear down a mountain.
Maybe in my next life
I wont be quite so useless
Empty and without talent
And vacant of meaning.
Average as my test scores
And about half as interesting
As a plain shelf in a burned down store.
Maybe in my next life
I wont be such a bad person
And I wont hold knives to my wrist
Or pray to God to let me die.
And I wont make my loved ones cry
And I just wont be ME.
Yeah. Maybe in my next life.
