Series 2 - Overview

D'Argo wakes up to find himself with Crichton on an abandoned mining asteroid, having being rescued by Aeryn after Moya took off to save herself from the Peacekeepers. However, unknown to them Aeryn made a pact with Crais, who is still with Talyn, in order to rescue them. Also unknown to them, Peacekeepers are still in the area and Moya is returning in order to search for Talyn. Crichton and D'Argo discover Aeryn's agreement with Crais and knock Aeryn out, Crichton flying over to Talyn to confront Crais.

Crichton takes Crais from Talyn and back to Moya, with Aeryn and D'Argo following shortly after, to find everybody more or less OK, apart from Zhaan has decided to follow the Delvian Seek again. But this is broken up by Talyn entering the area, and Moya hastily chasing him. Talyn is confused though and, with the Peacekeepers chasing, demands guidance. Aeryn and Crais board him and Talyn chooses Crais as his new captain. Aeryn is forced off the Gunship as Talyn goes into Starburst and escapes from the Peacekeepers and his mother, who also manages to escape, but without her son.

Shortly after this, Chiana finds out that her brother Neri is dead, and a recording is found of Aeryn in her Peacekeeper days, killing Moya's original Pilot and helping to install the current Pilot, under the command of captain Crais and a Lieutenant Velorik, whom she loved but betrayed for sabotage to Crais's secret project, to create a Leviathan-warship hybrid. Velorik had installed a shield to prevent Moya giving birth to such a ship, which would probably have killed her, but unfortunately D'Argo smashed the shield, resulting in the birth of Talyn. It was also found out that Pilot was improperly bonded with Moya, and so the long process of the natural bonding started.

Zhaan later recounts to Crichton the tale of how she, Chiana, Rygel, Moya and Pilot had looked for them on Litagara, a planet full of lawyers, where she had been set up and framed for murder. Finding her faith lacking, this was why she had recommitted herself to the Delvian Seek and was proved innocent, with the dubious help of Chiana and Rygel.

Shortly afterwards the crew come across the remains of a ship that had come into contact with Talyn. It seems at first that Crais was using Talyn for war, but it was found that the two of them acted in self-defence. Meanwhile, all sorts of trouble was going on as Moya's crew swapped bodies.

Happening across a Royal planet, Crichton became embroiled in a complicated plot when he inadvertantly proved he was the only person compatible with the planet's princess. This would lead to her being crowned, but her brother was not happy and wanted to be King so he could ally the planet's empire with the Scarren empire. Scorpius was also brought in to provide incentive for Crichton to marry the princess, and this went ahead and John became a statue for 80 cycles, in order to learn how to govern. This lead to the prince cutting off John's head, which was eventually passed to Scorpius and then to a Peacekeeper spy assigned with stopping the prince ascending the throne. The prince was killed and Crichton was set to once more be turned into a statue when it was found that the machine would kill him if it was used again. The princess's true love took his place, and Crichton left knowing that the princess caried his child which would be born in 80 cycles. However, the interest of the Scarren empire was gained, and they wanted to find out Scorpius's interest with Crichton.

Meanwhile, Moya, Pilot and Zhaan met Moya's Gods, the Builders, who wished to decommission Moya as she was capable of producing Gunship offspring, when Leviathans are traditionally creatures of peace. Zhaan convinced them to give Moya another chance, and so she was assigned the task of taking care for Moya and Pilot.

Shortly after Crichton seemed to find himself back on Earth, but in a bizzarre parody. Everyone he knew from the Farscape experience was there, playing roles, but nobody believed him. That is until a second Scorpius arrived and told Crichton that everything was an illusion, and he was in fact being tortured by the Scarrens who wished to find out Scorpius's relationship with Crichton. The second Scorpius was actually an implant which Scorpius gave him when he was captured by him to seek out the wormhole technology and keep Crichton alive. Crichton managed to escape the Scarren because the implant stopped his brain and heart functions momentarily, enough time to cause a distraction and escape. But the implant made Crichton forget that he had the implant in him.

Shortly after Stark returned to the crew with the transport pod he borrowed when they escaped the Peacekeeper Gammak Base, but arriving to tell D'Argo that his son, Jo'thee, was being sold as a slave. Shortly after the crew met up with Crais and Talyn again, who were seeking to install Talyn with less dangerous weapons for self-defence. However, when the weapon dealers arrived, Talyn destroyed them. The crew were ordered off Talyn as he and Crais made their escapes, but Crichton, Zhaan, Stark, Aeryn and D'Argo were captured by the surviving weapons dealers and ordered to tell their side of the story so a guilty party could be found. In the end Stark accepted the guilt and was dispersed, but it had turned out to be Talyn's fault as the weapons dealers had been carrying cargo lethal to any Leviathan, and had instantly moved to protect his mother.

However, the crew soon came into contact with the Nebari, who managed to mind-cleanse most of the crew in order to get to Chiana. It turned out that Chiana and Neri had inadvertantly been part of the Nebari's efforts to control the universe, by infecting people with a time-delayed mind-cleansing virus. They had found this out and managed to neutralise the effects, and then went their separate ways. The Nebari though managed to find out that Neri was still alive and was part of the Nebari resistance, and wanted to use Chiana to find out where he was. However, Scorpius's implant allowed Crichton to resist the mind-cleansing and he, Rygel and Pilot formulated a plan to get rid of the Nebari, aided by a Nebari resistance fighter who pretended to be part of the Nebari police.

Shortly after, Stark was found, having re-created his matter after the dispersal. He had come up with a plan to save Jo'thee by robbing a shadow depository. However, Scorpius turned up and revealed to Crichton about the implant, but the crew managed to get away with enough riches to free Jo'thee.

However, Scorpius had managed to trace the information about Jo'thee in Stark's console during the break-in, and moved to buy Jo'thee's slave shipment beforehand. However, it would be some time before Scorpius had Jo'thee as he was still in transit, but D'Argo was still tempted to turn Crichton over for his son. The crew worked fast in getting some reinforcements to free Jo'thee, including a Tavlek, a Sheyang, a Vokarian Blood Tracker, and the Zenetan Pirates. After meeting a few old friends and enemies, the money stolen from the depository turned out to be creatures that tried to eat Moya. The only way to kill them and save Moya was to partially burn her, leaving Moya very ill and the crew penniless to pay the mercenaries they had hired. In the end, Crichton gave himself up to save Jo'thee.

However, with the arrival of Crais and Talyn, the crew set about a plan to save Crichton or to kill him before Scorpius could get hold of the wormhole technology. Meanwhile, Scorpius found the implant had gained the wormhole technology, and was getting ready to move Crichton so the implant could be removed. Crichton escaped though as the crew's plan to free him was coming into play, and he was saved by them as Talyn destroyed the depository, supposedly killing Scorpius.

But Moya's injuries were still bad from the burning, and the implant was causing Crichton to behave irrationally. A surgeon was found to heal Moya and the treatment began, as the implant took over Crichton and tried to make it's way to Scorpius, injuring Jo'thee and Zhaan and killing Aeryn. Crichton was eventually brought under restraint as Aeryn's body was frozen for future "profit" by the surgeon, and the surgeon managed to remove the implant, unfortunately removing Crichton's ability to speak at the same time. However, Scorpius, ever the survivor, arrived on the scene, took out the surgeon, and made off with the wormhole technology, leaving Crichton on the operating table.

So it seems a bit of a cliffhanger. Crichton's brain is left open on the operating table with seemingly nobody around to fix it. Aeryn is dead. And Scorpius has the wormhole technology with which he plans to change the fate of the universe. As per usual, to be continued...
