Bakesh, a minor character in Farscape, seems to hold some sort of "mutual relationship" with Crichton.
A mercenary in a Tavlek band who captured royals and held them to ransom, it was Bakesh's misfortune to capture Rygel, believing him to be a Hynerian Dominar who still carried some value and hence tricking him into a barter session. It was probably only because Rygel carried one of Moya's vital components that the others decided they should rescue him.
In any case, Crichton managed to persuade Bakesh that Rygel held no value, or at least none that the Tavleks could use, and Bakesh decided to cut his losses and hand him back.
Since then, Bakesh may have joined in a raid on a Vokarian village which was briefly mentioned (Liars, Guns & Money 2 - ep 2.20). But soon after he and a band of Tavleks raided a monastery and Bakesh took a writ, the Holy Writ of Toru, for some reason unknown to him at the time.
Bakesh decided to read the writ, and it converted him from a killing mercenary into a religious man, even abandoning his gauntlet, that is until Crichton found him (Liars, Guns & Money 2 - ep 2.20). As Bakesh figured, it's easier to reform when you're wealthy.
Bakesh helped the Moya crew rescue D'Argo's son Jo'thee from Scorpius, and was the only survivor out of the mercenaries hired. During the conflict he very much proved his old killing skills, and afterwards pledged upon his oath that he would deliver Rorf and Teurac's shares to their families.
In a lot of ways, Bakesh can be compared to D'Argo, as he is a noble warrior. However, Bakesh killed needlessly when a mercenary, but now seems to have followed a more honourable path.
