Actually, it is illegal to use an outdated or wrong approach plate for a precision or non-precision approach. The back course is use and could be illustrated in the ATP check-ride. As you pass the LOKKS you turn to heading 238 and intercept the localizer that is set for final on the 58 degree radial. You are going away from the signal and if you want to us you’re AP you must use Back Course. The back course is use for when you are going away from a signal on a radial that is the opposite of your true heading. After you make your precision turn you simply turn on your approach button and set your KIAS. This will put you on course and right on the glide slope with your desired KIAS. If you decide to land from the other end of the runway (RWY 24) you must use the ILS RWY 24-approach plate, which uses the same localizer 108.3, but is on the 239-degree radial. The approach button should then work from that direction and put you on the correct glide slope. Do not ever get caught using outdated or incorrect maps or charts J
