Sounds pretty good doesn't it? I can't even begin to tell you how it felt when that last 2 tenths of a second ticked off that clock last night. It was something I will never forget, and I'm sure the kids will never forget it either. Probably the best compliment I heard came from the West Stokes head coach when he told me, "I have never seen kids play with more heart than your kids played with tonight." That sums up our whole season. We didn't have that one stand out player that most successful little league teams have. We had a whole team that came together and played with more heart than our opponents. We had to put players in positions where they wouldn't normally play; we gave these kids more to do than many high school football teams do, and we ran these kids every night. They never complained, in fact they asked for more. They are definitely a unique bunch of boys. To all the 12 year olds - you're a great bunch of boys, and I thank you for a great year. Ya'll go out and make me proud next year and the rest of your lives, not only on the football field, but in everything you do. Put that determination and that heart into your school work, your sports, your faith, and your whole lives and nothing can stop you. What a game that was! We came out and jumped on them early and scored on our first possession. As a famous American once said " I love it when a plan comes together". We scored again before halftime to lead 12-0 at the half. They came out and scored early in the 3rd to make it 12-7. Then it was time for our defense to take over and take over they did! West Stokes pretty much shut us down offensively in the 2nd half but 12 ended up being all we needed. It was a thriller right down to the last 2 tenths of a second when WS tried a long pass that didn't quite work. It was a great game that I would have paid to see a second time, luckily I have it on tape. Guys take care in the off season and we'll___ See you next year, Coach Riddle
