Hermione Jane Granger born September 19, 1979 born to two non-magical parents whom are dentists.

Hermione has brown eyes, long brown hair and some would say fairly large front teeth. Her name, hard to pronounce as it has been seen, is pronounced her-my-oh-nee as Rowling had her teach Viktor Krum in the fourth book. She is extremely intelligent and excels in her classes easily. She is also quite the worrier as she is always nervous about tests that are coming up even though it is obvious she is already well prepared for them. In the first book Hermione is a bit of an outsider at first before meeting Harry and Ron who we all know become quite good friends. Later in the book she was instrumental in the eventual defeat of Professor Quirrel due to her knowledge of spells and the plat that attacked them when they entered a secret room within Hogwarts.

In the Second book she doesn't play as much of an important role but she did help create the polyjuice potion that allowed Harry, Ron, and herself to gather information they couldn't normally have acquired. A large reason for her lack of activity in the second book is that she is turned to stone by the basilisk when she has identified it, obviously a person who was turned to stone cant do too much ha-ha.

But all of that aside, in the third book she is quite busy even though she disappears quite often. Hermione takes too many classes upon herself and she ends up using a magical item known as a time turner that as the name implies allows her to manipulate time. The biggest reason she needs it is because for some strange reason she takes classes that occur at the same time so she must go back in time to attend the class she did not attend the first time. Also within the third year she assists Hagrid in the trial involving Buckbeak the griffon. The problem with taking on the trial is that since she had already given herself too much work she ends up breaking down to Ron who (even though they had been at odds earlier in the book) took on the challenge of the trial. Lastly Hermione uses the Time Turner to its most important use in the book, and that is to go back in time to save Sirius Black (Harry's Uncle) and Buckbeak.

In the fourth book you see a more sensitive and less tomboyish side of Hermione. During the fourth book an event occurs known as the triwizard tournament, a gathering of different schools of magic that compete for the grand prize which is the goblet of fire. Throughout the book Hermione does her best to assist Harry, who is a competitor in the tournament. During the tournament is something known as the Yule ball where everyone goes to dance. Hermione is invited to the ball by Viktor Krum, a member of the school known as durmstrang. Ron gets jealous of this occurrence and says that she is fraternizing with the enemy. Hermione got upset as one would expect since the only reason Ron asked her to go to the dance was as a last resort which obviously hurt. Hermione unfortunately gets caught up in the crazed writings of Rita Skeeter, a news reporter, who fabricates a story about Hermione, Harry and Viktor. Over time though Hermione determines that she is an illegal Animagus who can turn into a beetle and uses this information to blackmail Rita to stop her slanderous writings. Also Hermione starts a group against the mistreatment of house elves, which unfortunately she is made fun of for.

The fifth book has Hermione in the Blacks house, which is now the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. Hermione as well as Ron have become prefects for the Gryffindor house, which of course makes Hermione delighted due to her normal rule following ways. She still continues her house elf movement and attempts to free the house elves but apparently they dont want to be freed and start to avoid the Gryffindor tower because she leaves clothing around for the elves to receive. In the fifth book it introduces Luna Lovegood, who is the polar opposite of Hermiones logical ways of thinking. But despite their differences they end up becoming friends due to her standing by Harry in the creation of the DA and by aiding them in the biggest point in the book.

Hermione at last says the name Voldemort much to everyone's surprise as well, and is involved in the battle at the Department of Mysteries but gets wounded quite badly. She recovers after taking ten types of potions a day though

And now for the sixth book, Hermione receives her O.W.L. scores over the summer and learns she has received ten outstanding and 1 exceeds expectations. Of course despite her scores she is still disappointed that she didnt receive 11 out standings. Due to her sheer intelligence she becomes a part of Professor Slughorns Slug Club and even though she knows much more about potions than Harry, due to his finding of the half-blooded princes book he quickly excels at it. Much to her annoyance she grows increasingly bitter at the importance Harry is given when she knows the truth of his cheating. Hermione and Ron once more have a falling out when Ron hears that Hermione snogged Krum. Hermione ends up going to the Christmas ball with Cormac Mclaggen, the only problem is his over the top personality and she ends up not being able to handle him and goes into hiding from him for the rest of the night. Once Ron gets poisoned however she goes back to being friends with Ron and after he gets better Lavender (Ron's girlfriend) breaks up with him much to their delight. Towards the end Harry tells Hermione as well as the other members of the DA to watch Malfoys as well as Snapes movements and though things go badly, it ends up paying off as they are able to alert the order of the phoenixs members once Malfoy makes his move. Hermione and the others survived, but barely, thanks to the effects of a potion called Felix Felicis which Harry had given the DA. In the end Hermione and Ron tell Harry that they will go wherever he does even if he means to leave Hogwarts.
