LEE'S LIBRARY
I is Style is a collection of writings by and about the underrated genius of Hanover Dada Kurt Schwitters. His own brand of Dada, which he called Merz, is a rich collection of abstract poetry and masterful collages. This book has some beautiful color photos of his work from the 1920s to the 1940s.

The Pillowmeincannons Report

Montpellier, FRANCE--In these times of uncertainty and trouble, troubling and uncertain as they are, we, the various personalities of me, understand that what people really value in times like these--as I said, uncertain and troubling ones--are short radio clips from ten years ago. One thing that can be said of timely, topical humor--it's timeless.

Not long ago I had the privilege, while taking a Caribbean cruise, to see a performance by the popular and famous impressionist Fred Travalina, whose impressions of President Carter and Dr. Ruth are as spot on today as they were when those people were in the news. And during the recent trouble, with all its uncertainty, I recalled the feeling of watching this great performer and feeling more in touch with the past.

We as Americans have always valued not only the future, but the near future. Now that things are more, well, uncertain, we turn once again to the past, a past filled with colorful figures and funny clothes.

IN THE BEGINNING

When I, Lee Harvey, began my career on radio during the first Bush administration, the most we had to worry about then was the erosion of free speech and global war with Arab nations. Now, our children are not so lucky. They must worry about not only these things but the threat of much more. Much more. Much much more.

While we still have capable leaders in charge who will always vigilantly guard those values which they share with other capable leaders, we the people of this country, hardworking people, people of faith and doubt, of hope and sorrow, of skin colors ranging from dark rich brown to an almost kind of translucent pink, people of means and mean people of no means...this means you! And frankly, so do I.

ANOTHER WORLD!

This page has been designed to lead you into another world, to explore the world of Lee Harvey Radio.

To better understand each other we must first understand those around us. Imagine visiting another world!

Imagine having jury duty, as Lee does in his popular piece, Jury Duty, with lots of timely references to the OJ case.

Take a trip to a real fair with Lee Goes to the Fair, or travel with him to Washington in Lee Goes to Washington.

Disney likes to say they specialize in magic. Well, here at Lee Harvey's World, we specialize in more of a three card monty type of thing. Is this your card?

SEVENTY VIRGINS WITH BLACK EYES

If you've never heard Lee Harvey or visited this page before, let me hep you to the skinny. The page is organized roughly like the federal government, with different sections having unclear parameters and overlapping responsibilities. The archives consists of some older Lee Harvey bits...the "Best of" album, AKA Eight ball, will eventually contain the entire comedy release.

If it's culture you want, just click on the MacCoy link to hear a wonderful reading of William Startrek's MacCoy.

The daily feature item, which this month is Kill Miller, is a favorite pick of me, Lee. Other features include the collection of art at the Fundacio Morris, a museum in France supported by the Lee Harvey Foundation, also known as the Harviners, a charitable organization founded by the great man. Remember, a Harviner never stoops so low as when he helps cripple children.

Also an MP3 from 80s supper-group Coldwater Army.

Why, this site has it all.

At the bottom of the page you'll also find a clip from the old site, a terrific underground tape of a would-be promoter's taped letter to the label industry.

So friends enjoy. And if you are troubled, uncertain even, remember, that when you take the time to be certain, it's worth the trouble to take that time---certain or not.
