---
This type 28 anti-tank gun pillbox near Godalming has notches at the edge of the roof where a wooden camouflage structure was originally attached, possibly a false roof or advertising hoarding. The large concrete loophole was for a 2 pounder gun. It has chamfered front corners M/G embrasure in side-wall at rear. The flanking wall is falling down, and the structure is overgrown and used as dump

It has an external rear blast wall which has one rifle embrasure. This pillbox formed part of the GHQ Line (Berkshire/Hampshire/Surrey/Kent) - West - East section of GHQ Line running from Reading through Hampshire and West Surrey to Kent (Leigh) following in part a line south of the North Downs.(Photos Tim Denton)
