Elstead, Surrey, World War 2 Pillboxes and Anti-Invasion Defences.


This variant of the brick built square type 26 infantry box, is at Fullbrook lane near to Elstead in Surrey. The box features unusual cast concrete twin embrasures on a wall that covers the south west side of the road. SU903442 .

All the remaining walls each have a single embrasure..


The entrance is protected by a low angled brick wall entrance.


Rusting iron hooks remain around the roofline that were used for hanging camouflage netting.(Photos Tim Denton)
