Dogmersfield Hampshire World War 2 Pillboxes and Anti-Invasion Defences.


This type 24 stands on a steep bank overlooking the Basingstoke Canal. It has a corrugated metal roof internally and a trench to the door extends 14 ft from the pillbox. Once inside there are two series of stairs. SU 777527

This pillbox formed part of the GHQ Line (Berkshire/Hampshire/Surrey/Kent) - West - East section of GHQ Line running from Reading through Hampshire and West Surrey to Kent (Leigh) following in part a line south of the North Downs. (Photos Tim Denton)
