These pictures show a very rare preserved Allan Williams turret at Duxford. They were one man pillboxes sunk in the ground with only the metal turret above ground.
This one was originally from Nazeing common , near Harlow in Essex. It once formed part of the North London Stopline. Sadly there is no information to when it was recovered, but it has been restored to a very high standard. Complete with its sliding front doors and the round top hatch.
