| France creates a rare diversity of civilization and landscapes that makes it unique to the rest of Europe. There is an old saying that France could be such a wonderful country if it weren't for the French. But there is more to that than being a tourist and actually living in France. Its culture is profound that it is the French that makes France a marvelous country. It is 551,000 square kilometers of diverse landscapes, from the country's capital, to the mountains and Alpes, and to the calanques of the Meditteranean Sea. And to add its rich architectures, paintings, music and cinemas, and literature that makes it rich in history. From their world renowned painters as Matisse, Monet, Renoir & Cezanne, their great writers as Victor Hugo & Alexandre Dumas, to their scientists & inventors as Louis Pasteur, Louis Braille, Joseph & Jacques Montgolfier and Marie & Pierre Curie, have undoubtedly placed France in the significance of the world today. Marseille, France's second largest city, owns the biggest French ports, and as the best known National Anthem, "La Marseillais," by G. Rouget de Lisle, is as well known as being notorious for organized crimes and racial tensions. These days, it is said that the city has calmed down and it is still worth the exploration. |
