GENERAL OVERVIEW

Pilgrim Camp is located 250 miles north of the city in the Adirondacks directly on Brant Lake in Warren County, New York. It was incorporated in 1946 as a non-profit organization to provide services of a religious and recreational nature for the benefit of the
Ridgewood Pentecostal Church and its affiliated churches.

The operation of Pilgrim Camp is made possible through the volunteer staff members, who give their time and services as an offering unto the Lord without receiving any financial compensation from the camp.

The idea for a camp began in 1939 when Pastor Hans. R. Waldvogel suggested to several Sunday school teachers, Gordon Gardiner and Charles Andrews, that they take their boys away for a time of fellowship and fun. Later the girls would join as campers. Edwin H. Waldvogel, current Senior Pastor of the Ridgewood Pentecostal Church, and his wife, Edith, were also active during those first years of camp. After originally camping in Bolton Landing on Lake George for several years, the present property on Brant Lake was obtained, and Gordon P. Gardiner and his wife, Caroline, became the first camp directors. Later Bob Kalis and his wife, Ruth, would assume these roles.

The camp is divided into three sections: Watch Rock for the adults; the Village for teens 9-15; and The Cottage for youngsters 6-8. Within the near future we hope to provide an option for downloading adult, camper and staff applications. In the meantime, you may email us for more information or contact us at:
