Be Not Afraid

Be not afraid to take my hand
My angel of the night
My foot holds strong, my steps are sure
My grips forever tight.

If you shall fall, I'll lift you up
And kiss your tears away.
I'll guide you when the path is rough
Your light when skies are gray.

When fears in you come rising
Like the swelling of the sea
And the pain of life is trying,
You may borrow strength from me.

For to see you sad my dearest daughter
Is something I can't take.
And if your smile fades away
My heart will surely break.

So fear not of tomorrow dear,
For the rain will soon subside.
And when the light of love shines through
You will find me by your side.
My Sister

My sister means so much to me
Always my friend, always will be

She's always there when I need to be heard
Usually listens and never says a word

She'll give me advice, her point of view
But never puts me down when I don't follow through

I love you sis as you should know
My thoughts are with you wherever you go

Remember the good times, keep them in mind
I love you so much sis, youre one of a kind

So when you travel day after day
Remember I'm with you every mile of the way

I love you sis, this is written from my heart
As long as we live, we shall never part
Not My Own

You made me in Your image, created me for You
So now, my Lord, I ask you, what is it I must do?
You tell me and I'll do it, Your work is my command
I long to be your servant, before you I now stand
Broken I come before you, Lord, ready to do your will
My purpose is to live for you, to know you, and be still
So cover me in your perfect love, my thirst for you is true
Nothing will ever fill me nearly as much as you
In the humblest of offerings I fall on my knees before you
Singing my praise of your great love, My Father, I adore you
I kneel in your presence, in awe of your glory, seeking your holy face
I am so blessed by your mercy, Oh God, and by your incredible grace
I want to worship you even in moments of pain, or grief, or strife
Fill me with Yourself till I overflow, my life's yours for the price you paid
I lay it all down for you in thanks for the sacrifice you made
Take me now and shape me into who I need to be
Give me strength and help me live the life you've planned for me.
Dear Friends & Family,

These are just a few of the more than hundreds of poems that I have written over the years. In fact, these are some of the ones that I have written just in the last few weeks since moving to North Dakota. I hope you enjoy them and find as much comfort in them as I have.

"Not My Own," was written after I had a dream about a conversation I had with Jesus about my homesickness. "Be Not Afraid," was God's response to me in the same dream. These were written on the same day.

"My Sister" is written for my sister, Katie Shevokas, who has stood by my side in everything I've ever done. She has been a HUGE support to me and loves me for who I am, not what I do or say. She is also one of my best friends. I love her more than I could ever describe! Thanks, Katie, for everything!

Love,
Kim
