This game was a landmark game back in its time. It was the first console RPG to reach America. I'm also pretty sure it was the first RPG to use 3D graphics in its incredible dungeon. Back then, this game would've been a perfect 10 across the board

Now, we at the Sega Review Archives only review games on Visuals and Sound against the games of the time. The visuals were the most impressive of the time. The 3D dungeons were mind-blowing back then, and even now, it's hard to imagine an 8-bit system producing such wonderful graphics. The sound production is average, and there are some decent and great tunes as well.

As far as gameplay wise, its one of the first few RPGs that played like this. Its your standard turn based action, and not the most impressive thing ever. However, its fun, and its a refreshing break from some of the bad 'innovation' from many of today's RPGs.

It was innovative back then, with its amazing 3D graphics and being the first console RPG to reach America. I guess today you really can't say that, but being the first RPG to ever reach America, I guess it deserves a high score. Final Rating:9
