Untitled Fic
Written By MoonlightWolf

Another day, another battle. It gets boring after a while. But if you choose to
become the ninth Kanto gym leader, then so be it. I had resigned from the
position of Champion and Lance took my place. I set up my gym on the small,
desolate island of Cinnabar. Blaine moved earlier when his gym was destroyed. I
use two pokemon: A Typhlosion and a Slowbro. I raised Typhlosion from a
Cyndaquil. It was my starter pokemon. I found a Slowpoke in Slowpoke Well. My
pokemon seem easy to beat on the outside, but their immensely high levels and
their powerful moves make them tough opponents. The badge I would someday give a
lucky trainer who happened to beat me was called a Tribadge. Some idiotic League
person thought it up for me. I suppose they figured that would be a good name
because my pokemon are three types. I have no apprentice trainers. I do not want
any either. I am sort of a loner. I like it though. I dont like being around
people much. And most trainers attempt to find a lo!
ophole in the rules so they dont have to battle me. The volcano is still
active, I guess thats why.
My pokemon are strong. Here is some information about them.
SLOWBRO
Type: Water/Psychic
Level: 80
Moves: Psychic, Flash, Surf, Blizzard

TYPHLOSION
Type: Fire
Level: 82
Moves: Cut, Flamethrower, Thunderpunch, Fury Cutter

See? My Slowbro can easily take out a grass or flying pokemon with Blizzard.
Psychic will take care of a fighting or poison pokemon. Surf will get rid of
pesky fire, rock, or ground pokemon. Flash is just there to lower the opponents
accuracy. Typhlosion can take out a grass, steel, or ice pokemon with
Flamethrower. And Flamethrower made Ashs Pikachu faint with one turn, so
electric pokemon are taken care of. Cut is there because I never bothered to
delete it. Thunderpunch can smite water and flying types easy. Fury Cutter will
make dark and psychic pokemon faint. That pretty much takes care of it, doesnt
it? If theres anything left, I can use brute force.
Today, I had the first battle of the week. One courageous soul was brave enough
to come near the volcano (note the sarcasm). He was about sixteen years old, I
guessed. He had black hair and piercing blue eyes. His skin was pale, as though
he rarely went out into the sunlight. He had only two pokemon, as I did. If I
have not said it before, I will say it now. There is only me in my gym, with the
exception of the opposing trainer. There is no referee. I trust my opponents to
battle fairly. We stood at opposite sides of the gym. I told him to go first.
His first pokemon was a Houndoom. It wasnt a normal Houndoom. Its fur was not
black, but black tipped with silver. It was larger than normal. It was one of
those rare pokemon with different coloring and large size. I could have used my
Typhlosion, but Fury Cutter wouldnt have worked well, as Houndoom is half fire.
I used my Slowbro instead. I commanded it to use Surf. It left Houndoom wet and
a little shaken. Hmm, I thought to!
myself, he must have trained it against water pokemon. Smart. He told his
pokemon to use Crunch. It barely scratched Slowbro, which looked around
stupidly, wondering if anything at all had happened.
I had trained against powerful trainers. Erika, Karen, Koga, Misty, and Lt.
Surge were the main ones. I battled Slowbro against Kogas Ariados, to make it
more resistant to bug pokemon. Karen uses dark pokemon, so she was a good choice
for Slowbro. Lt. Surges and Erikas pokemon were useful for Slowbros training.
I also battled Typhlosion against Mistys water pokemon. She became a powerful
water trainer after she dumped Ash. My pokemon became resistant to about every
type theyd normally be weak against.
That was why Slowbro kicked Houndooms sorry little butt. Then the nameless
trainer sent out his second pokemon. It was a small, catlike pokemon. It took a
few seconds for it to register. The pokemon was Mew. I almost thought that it
was an unfair advantage when I remembered that he most likely caught it on his
own. I knew for a fact that Mew could learn any TM or HM. Ten bucks says hes
taught it Thunderpunch and Hydro Pump, I thought. I knew my pokemon would be
resistant. I knew that people had put information up about me. Anyone who wanted
a challenge studied my pokemon. But no one knew of my training techniques. I had
made sure of that.
Mew hovered in a pink bubble. The trainer told his pokemon to use Mind Reader.
I nearly smacked my forehead. Of course! I said to myself. Mind reader and
Guillotine is perhaps the best move combination a pokemon can have. I heard it.
Guillotine, Mew. There went Slowbro. I recalled it. As I drew Typhlosions
pokeball from my belt, I thought of a strategy. Let it use Mind Reader, then cut
it off with something powerful, like Flamethrower. I had upped Typhlosions
speed while training it, and I hoped that the speed would be enough. As I threw
the ball, I thought of something else. Guillotine can hit but does it have to
work? I clutched that little glimmer of hope while Typhlosion emerged and the
ball flew back to my hand. Wait for it to use Mind Reader, Typhlosion, I
whispered, then use Flamethrower as fast as you can. Typhlosion nodded.
Mew locked on to Typhlosion, and got ready for its trainers instructions. I
heard the flames roaring a moment later. Soon after, a frazzled-looking Mew
appeared. It had not fainted, but it was indeed hurt. Drat, I thought, My
Typhlosion is going to faint. Yup, there were the Guillotine instructions. And
there went Typhlosion. I quickly returned it. I walked to the center of the
battle area, and held out my hand. On my palm sat a badge, bearing the symbols
of Fire, Water, and Psychic. He took it, and walked silently out of the gym.
