A Very Odd Story in Which The Author Goes Crazy

Red, Moonlight, and Fire were the remaining members of the animal kingdom. They
were the last beings on the planet with animal blood in them. They were in no
way related, but they were good friends. A thing called pokemon had taken over
the planet, killing true animals and taking up space. Three half-wolves were the
only animals that remained. Fire was half timber wolf and half Ninetales.
Moonlight was half gray wolf and half Umbreon. Red was half red wolf and half
Arcanine. They each resembled a wolf in shape and size, but their markings were
different. Moonlight was a very dark gray color. She had golden ring colored
markings on her legs. Fire was a light gray color. He could breathe fire, but he
rarely used this ability. Red was orange-red with black stripes. His tail was a
lighter color.

Right then, they were arguing. �I should be the leader of this dingy little
group,� said Red. �I am the largest.� �But size doesn�t matter, right
Moonlight?� asked Fire. Moonlight nodded. �I am the fastest, so I should be the
leader,� said Fire. Then Moonlight put in something. �In the days when wolf
packs were common, there was an alpha male. He was usually the strongest and
most powerful. He led the pack. I am a female; I cannot be the leader if we are
to follow the customs of our ancestors. You should fight to decide the clan
leader.� Red and Fire thought about this. They both respected Moonlight
immensely, as she was the oldest. She was also the most powerful. �We think you
ought to be the leader,� said Red. �You are the oldest and most powerful,� added
Fire. Moonlight accepted this honor gratefully.

�Look at these pokemon! Wow, they sure are cool. They don�t look like anything
I�ve seen before.� Ash pulled out his pokedex and pointed it at the strange
pokemon. �These are half pokemon, half wolf creatures. There is no information
on such a creature, for they are thought to be fiction,� said the pokedex.
�Wow,� said Misty. �I wonder what a wolf is.� �Maybe they were prehistoric
pokemon�� thought Brock. �Well, if they are half pokemon, they must be
catchable! Go, Pikachu!� yelled Ash excitedly. �Pika!� Pikachu walked out in
front of Ash, ready for battle. Suddenly the largest creature woke up. It
started growling at Ash. It looked extremely fierce. �Um, Ash, I don�t think it
likes you much,� said Brock. �Maybe we should take pictures of these things to
show Professor Oak before that one mauls Ash,� said Misty. Brock pulled out his
camera and snapped three photographs before grabbing Ash running the heck out of
there.

�Stupid humans,� muttered Fire. �He wanted to catch me! As if I were a POKEMON!�
Red spat out the word as though it was something bad he had eaten. �You are half
pokemon, you know,� said Moonlight. �I don�t care. I�m better at being a wolf
than Arcanine,� said Red. �Whatever,� said Moonlight, showing indifference.

�Hi, Professor!� said Ash. �While we were walking today, we found these things.�
Ash held the three pictures up to the web camera. �My pokedex said that they
were half wolf, half pokemon.� �What is a wolf, Professor?� asked Misty. �Oh my�
This is very strange. I always thought that animals may have interbred with
pokemon, but I was never sure. Humans always thought that the only animals left
were fish, and that they bred with Goldeen and such. Listen. I want you to come
to my lab right away and tell me about your encounter,� said Professor Oak.
�Okay!� said Ash.
They flew on Ash�s now obedient Charizard. The long wings that Charizard had
carried them swiftly over half of Johto and into Kanto. They stopped at
Professor Oak�s lab. �Return, Charizard. You deserve a rest,� said Ash, holding
out Charizard�s pokeball. They waked into the lab and found Professor Oak
waiting for them. �Hi, Ash, Misty, Brock,� he said. �Tell me about your
encounter with these�things.� �Okay, Professor.�
�We were walking outside Goldenrod City in the grass. I looked behind a bush and
saw these three,� said Ash as he handed the Professor the photographs. �My
pokedex told me that they were half pokemon, half wolf. Then, the largest one,
the dark colored one,� he said, pointing, �started growling at me. Brock made a
smart remark and Misty seemed to care about me more than that bicycle�� Misty
made a face. �Anyway, Brock took the pictures and dragged me out of a prime
pokemon opportunity.� �It was about to maul you,� Brock protested. Ash ignored
him.Professor Oak scratched his chin. �Do you know how pokemon researchers came up
with pokemon types? Like mouse, bird, fish, and such? It came from animals.
There were fish, horses, birds, mice, rats, dogs, cats and things like that.
They all branched off into different breeds. They existed long before pokemon.
Most researchers thought that the only remaining animals were fish. However, it
seems that wolves bred with�� he looked at the pictures and thought for a
moment. ��Umbreon, Arcanine, and Ninetales. They produced these odd specimens.
Some researchers think that pokemon are mutated animals. And others think that
Pikachu looks nothing like a mouse and should be called the rabbit pokemon,�
finished Professor Oak. �Professor, do you want to see these pokemon-animals?�
asked Ash. Professor Oak nodded.
Charizard carried Ash and Brock while the Professor�s Pidgeot carried him and
Misty. They landed near Goldenrod City.

Moonlight watched the three humans come back, along with another one. She
prepared to strike in case one of them should try to capture any of them. One of
the bushes moved and a face appeared. �There you are!� Moonlight snapped her
jaws at him. �Hey! They�re over here!� he yelled. Moonlight kept her teeth
bared. Another face, unfamiliar, appeared. �Ash, do you have the tranquilizers
ready?� he asked. �Yep.� The first human handed the second one three tubes.
Suddenly, Moonlight felt drowsy�
When Moonlight woke up, she was on a metal table. She could not turn her head to
see around her. �Red! Fire! Are you here?� She heard the two answer. Suddenly
she saw a face appear. �This is the half Umbreon. Interesting. I wonder what
breed of wolf it was,� the human said. Moonlight snapped her jaws at him
viciously. �Hmmm. I�ll just run some tests�� Moonlight fell into a deep sleep.

�Gray wolf!� Professor Oak said triumphantly. �This one is half gray wolf, the
orange colored one is half red wolf, and the light gray one is half timber
wolf!� Ash walked over to them. �Judging by the wolves� behavior, I�d say they
don�t like humans much,� Brock said. �I think you�re right, Brock,� said Ash.
�Professor we ought to let them go.� �Nonsense, Ash. We need to study them. This
is a once in a lifetime chance. I want to study them more.�
Misty pulled Brock and Ash to a corner of the room. �Ash, you know where
Professor Oak keeps his tranquilizer darts, right?� Ash nodded, confused. �And
Brock, pokemon like you, right?� Brock, also confused, nodded. �Okay. Ash, get
the tranquilizer darts. Brock, soothe the wolves when I shoot Professor Oak.�
�Misty, why are we doing this? We never do things like this in the show!� said
Ash. �Two reasons. Number one, this is not the show. Number two, Moonlight Wolf
is writing this and she make it any way she wants because she is a much better
writer than the idiots who write the shows.� Suddenly, a voice came out of
nowhere. �Thank you, Misty, for that wonderful promotion of my writing. You two,
do what she says cause you do not want what happened to my last characters to
happen to you.� �Can I have my money now?� Misty asked. �Can you?� Misty
groaned. �May I have my money now?� �Not until you finish out the story. Ash,
stop mocking me and get the tranquilizer darts before I t!
hrow you in quick sand with Elizabeth.� �Okay, okay, chill out.� Ash quickly
went over to the Professor�s desk and found the darts. �There are several things
I want you to remember, Ash. Number one, perpetual hat hair is not good. Number
two, you are not perfect. Number three, you are too short.� �I am not!� Ash
protested. �Stand next to Misty.� �Okay.� �Notice the location of her waist your
shoulders. Your shoulders come slightly above her waist. Either someone cannot
draw, or one of you has hormone problems. I have to go. I never make appearances
this long in my stories unless it is really needed. Good bye. And you should
really try to make the shows more interesting.�
Ash shot a dart at Professor Oak�s back, sending him into a peaceful sleep.
Misty and Ash dragged him into the closet and locked the door while Brock spoke
soothingly to the wolves. Soon they had calmed down enough for each one of them
to release one. �Hey guys, where�s Professor Oak?� Tracey had come in. Ash
groaned. �Blasted Moonlight Wolf.� �I heard that!� �He went out for supplies,�
said Brock. �We were just getting these pokemon ready for exercise.� �Okay,�
said Tracey as he left. �Now how do we get them out? Tracey is in that room, we
can�t get out of the exercise area, and the window is too small,� said Ash. �I
have an idea,� said Brock. �Hey Wolf! Can you help us out here?� �Fine.�
Moonlight Wolf did a really cool thing called �being creative� and put Ash,
Brock, and Misty�s minds into the Wolves� bodies. �Get out of here. Go to the
exercise area and I will fly you out of here.� Ash thought he heard Moonlight
Wolf muttering about how �my characters need to get smarter��
�Okay, we�re out here. Fly us out now,� Ash said impatiently. �Nah. I�m gonna
leave you three here. The wolves are gonna escape cause I like them better and
they don�t disagree with me. Bye.� They watched the three wolves float out of
sight. When they tried to get out of the exercise area, they could not. �Let us
out, Wolf!� Brock shouted angrily. �No. I�m gonna see how smart you are.�
�Hello!� said a voice. �Great. Moonlight Wolf has come to torture us again,�
said Ash. �No. I�m Ashley. I am a friend of Moonlight, though. I normally talk
much. But this is her story and she forces me to talk. She is an extraordinary
writer, so it�s cool. May I have my money now?� �No.�
