Sea of Stars

By: Blue Rose

*Pairing: 13x11
*Genre: fluff, romance (totally pointless-but cool)
*Time: could be any time before or during the series
*This fic is dedicated to Jessie (MouSe), for all the times she helped me
think of cool names for my characters.

Lady Une stood alone on the balcony. She watched as the stars came out,
one by one, against a backdrop of murky twilight.
"What are you thinking, My Lady?" Treize Khushrenada appeared beside her,
his voice like a gentle beam of light against the approaching darkness.
She sighed, and glanced at the sky.
"I was just thinking how beautiful the moon is. And how, against the
stars, our lives seem little and insignificant."
He smiled. That was like her, she always seemed to be on the edge of some
great thought. Usually, she was cold and silent, the infamous "Bloody Une".
But lately, she seemed quiet in a different way; almost distant and sad.
"Is there something you wanted me to do, Your Excellency?" She asked.
"Please, Lady. There's no need for formalities right now."
She blushed, glad it was dark and he couldn't see her face.
"Treize?" She asked.
"Yes, My Lady?"
"Do you think...And I want your honest opinion. Do you think I'll ever be
a good soldier?"
"You're already a tremendous help to me. I don't know what I'd do without
you."
He moved slightly closer, his arm brushing hers.
"Thank you, but what I mean is, is this where I belong?"
He glanced at her once again, she seemed so fragile in the moonlight. He
wanted to protect her, but was afraid she might pull away, or even leave him
forever.
"I can't imagine you anywhere else," he finally said.
She turned to face him, her brown eyes probing his for answers to an
unspoken question.
"Would you...miss me if I left?"
He reached out and brushed her cheek. She caught his hand and held it.
"Yes, you've always been there for me. I only wish I knew how to thank
you."
She moved her face closer, almost touching his.
"What's the use," she began, distancing herself slightly. "You'll never
understand."
He took both her hands in his.
"I want to understand," he said. "If you left OZ, well, I couldn't live
without you."
"You're just saying that so I'll be your secretary all the time." She
retorted sourly.
"No. I'm saying that because," He stopped in midsentance,
"I love you." He whispered in her ear.
They kissed. It seemed so natural, not awkward at all. As she returned
his kiss, Lady Une glanced once more at the cathedral of stars above them.
She no longer felt alone and lost. She was a part of something, and would
give her life to feel this way forever. As she stood in his arms, Lady Une
glimpsed a shooting star. Like that star, she and Treize were only a part of
something huge. Part of an endless circle of life, death, and rebirth. They
were only one shining moment-in a sea of stars.

*Peeks out from behind a rock* well, hope u didn't laugh too hard. I am
working on writing the third part of "the Golden Arrow" But have been
distracted lately by the writing of a much longer novel and the actions of
some very screwed up people (don't even start). But now that school's over I
should be having more time to indulge in fanfics. After all, I wanna be a
writer, and the best 13x11 fic author (next to Kat Dickerson of course- I
wish I could write like her). Anywayz, sorry for babbling. Hope u liked my
fic, and watch for part three of the Golden Arrow!
