The Golden Arrow Part two of ten By: Blue Rose Yay! I'm finally writing the second part! I've been lazy, what with the end of school and all that crap. Also, I've been having some somewhat confusing guy problems but don't even go there. Anyways.... 2 hours later, the carraige pulled up in front of a huge white stone mansion. It sat sad and lonely atop a rise in the manor. It was the biggest house she had ever seen, rising six stories. He helped her out of the carriage, and into the mansion. The inside was more impressive than the outside. A vast great hall lead to stairway after stairway, wing after wing. "It's...enormous." She commented. "Waste of space, really." Treize said dryly. "We aristocrats think that big houses are going to bring us happiness. When we really end up all alone with no one but the servants. Lady Une smiled at him, at least he wasn't a show-off. They walked up what seemed miles of stairs to her tired feet, until they reached a room. "This is where you will be sleeping." He said, opening the door. "I'll have a maid check on you later." "Excellency?" She asked. "Yes?" "Thank You." He smiled and shut the door behind him. The next morning, Lady Une awoke with a start. Then she remembered Treize and the carriage and the white stone house. She got out of bed and found a vase of roses sitting next to the bed. The gesture suited him, being both polite and sweet. She dressed and managed to find her way downstairs. "Where's Duke Khushrenada?" She asked a house keeper. "He left early this mornin' Miss Une." "Oh...when will he be back?" "I don't know." The maid saw her downcast face. "But don' worry 'bout it. The minute he comes back, I'll let ye know. Now why don' you set down an' eat somethin'. Yer lookin' pale. *Well, the plot thickens. I would also like to say thanks again to Kit for letting me waste at least half the ink of her purple pen writing the first draft of this story! |
