Epilogue

The man was standing on a cliff, staring at the setting sun. His silhouette was drawn in the air and the sun shone into her violet eyes, making her squint slightly. She was not sure what he was doing there, but something told her that he was kind, yet also lost. She plucked at her short, blue sundress and then straightened her light blonde, almost white hair.

Mister? She asked him with a soft, pure voice. He turned around and looked at her oddly. Mister, are you alright?

He stepped away from the cliff and then crouched before her. She could now see that he had short brown hair and the kindest blue eyes that she had ever seen. He looked young; only 19 years old.

And who might you be, little girl? He asked her while smiling.

I am Aigneis! The girl said brightly. Who are you, mister? And what were you doing there?

My name is Kevan, very nice to meet you, Aigneis. And right now I was just thinking. Kevan replied.

Thinking? About what? She asked him.

About what a beautiful day it is! Dont you agree with me? And then I was lucky to meet a nice girl like you. Now it is my turn: what are you doing here? Does your mother allow you to walk around all by yourself?

Mommy does not know I am here, she is busy most of the time. The little girl pouted. But I can take care of myself, you know! And even if I get in trouble, I still have my daddy to save me! She added fiercely.

Your father must be pretty strong, then? Tell me, is he a swordsman? Or does he fight without weapons? The man asked.

My daddy is a really strong wizard! He told me that he once fought against a God, but I think that he just made that up because you dont fight against a God! Aigneis said.

Fighting against a God? I have never heard of such a thing! He must be very brave and powerful if he can do such a thing! Kevan laughed.

Or maybe just a very good liar! The girl added.

I somehow doubt that The young man mumbled, now looking deep in thought. The girl cocked her head, and then blinked.

How would you know such a thing? Do you know my daddy? She asked.

What? No, I do not think I know him. I just have this feeling inside of me that I do not understand. Is it trying to tell me something? Kevan said, and then shook his head as if to get rid of those thoughts. Ah, probably just my imagination. Now, little girl, shall we find your mother? Is she around her somewhere?

I think she is, ah! Do you hear her? And Aigneis was right, as the clear voice of a woman reached Kevans ears.

Aigneis? Aigneis, are you there? I thought I had told you not to run off in the forest just by yourself. Aigneis, where are- ah!

And there before him, coming out of the forest, was a beautiful young woman. With long brown hair and almost glowing violet eyes that her daughter had clearly inherited from her, she somehow looked strikingly familiar to her. She, herself, also looked like she recognised him, with widened eyes staring at him. He stood upright and scraped his throat.

Do I know you?

The end.
