THE VANDERBILT MANSION!!!!!!!
The Vanderbilt Mansion was built in 1900 as a summer home to one of the "lesser" Vanderbilts, William Sr. Although his son, William Jr., became famous as an auto racer and actually held the land speed record at one time, it seems to us that this house was pretty much the height of William's achievements.
It's now a part of the campus of Dowling College, sitting right on the Connectquot River.
