By reading poetry we see the world through the poets mind, we learn their way of thinking, and can often relate to the feelings or situations that the poet shares. A good deal of people don�t enjoy reading poetry, finding it too hard to understand and boring. To better understand poetry and to be able to pick out the meaning behind it, it is best to learn a few of the basic rules to poetry. A good example being similes and metaphors, if you, the reader, don�t understand such things then some poems can be very bewildering. Some of the meanings may not be obvious. It is important to read poems carefully, and to view them with an open mind.
