1 Corinthians 13:11- "When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, thinks as a child, and reason as a child; but when I became a man, I did away with childish things."
You're all starting to grow up now, but it's hard to let go of a lot of childhood habits.  Little things like helping Mom around the house-- just because you know things need to be done, and mowing the yard without having to be asked,, are part of putting away childish things.  I know we all want to be adults, but it's true that you must act like an adult in order to be treated like one.  Does anyone have to tell your mom to do the dishes, clean the house, and do the laundry?  No.  You should also do more things without having to be asked.
Okay, this is not all about household chores.  No, your parents didn't come to me asking me to write this stuff, but we need to start growing up in a lot of ways.  We must start taking God's commands and promises more seriously.  We have to start seeking Him by studying the Bible  more faithfully and going to Him in prayer.  It's a gradual process most of the time, and there's no better time than now to start.
