STALLION SERVICE CONTRACT

I, Shelly Pifer, stallion owner, handler, farm manager, hereby agree to breed the mare ___________________ reg.no.___________  to the stallion ________________________for the breeding season at $400.00 Breeding Service Fee. Of this amount a Non refundable Booking Fee of $100.00 is payable with this contract. The balance of the Breeding Fee in addition to all board cost, vet bills, farrier work, and incurred charges shall be paid upon mares departure. All bills must be paid in full(see rates on page2).All breeding will be live cover only, hand breeding or pasture breeding as needed. It is understood that due to the size of the animals and the nature of their business, live cover breeding can result in injury, strain, scrapes, and bruises to the mare and or stallion, and neither parties shall be liable for these. We will take all precautions to minimize these through supervision, assistance  and interference as needed. All mares must have a negative culture before breeding starts.
1. Live foal guarantee with return priviledge in season. It is understood that, should the foal not stand and nurse resulting in death within 72 hours, you will be entitled to a return priviledge.This does not cover foals born dead to fescue toxicity, or poor mare care during gestation. This guarantee applies only if you notify me within one week from the birth and death of the foal.If the mare is to be returned and the owner of the mare fails to deliver her for rebreeding, then any and all fees shall not be refundable, and the contract is terminated. WE recommend vaccinations, and deworming during pregnancy, and prefoaling vaccinations also.
2. The breeding season will begin March 1st and close August 1st. You  agree that your mare will  under go a veterinary sonogram examination within 45 days of breeding and the results on veterinary letter head emailed/mailed to us.  The Live Foal Guarantee is void if we do not recieve this document by foaling.
3. Diligent efforts will be made to settle the mare in this breeding season, however if for any reason she does not settle in foal, this will entitle the mare owner to return for a rebreed the following year
only, providing the balance of all bills are paid upon the mares departure. The mare owner will not hold the farm or stallion owner liable. In the event a rebreed is necessary there will be a $50.00 handling fee charged to the mare owner, and any board, vet care, or other  incurred charges while staying at the farm must paid in full upon mares departure.
4. It is further agreed that should the stallion die or become unfit for service after the mare is pronounced in foal, the stallion owner is released from all further resonsibility. If the mare dies, or becomes unfit for breeding, the mare owner may return the following season only with a substitute mare approved by the stallion owner, with the same guidelines of this contract.
5. A"Breeders Certificate" will be issued to the mare owner and in the name of the mare owner at the time of foaling  upon notification of birth of the foal and lived at least 72 hours, if all incurred charges have been paid.
6. A copy of the mare's registration papers front and back must be furnished along with a negative Coggins test within 1 year and mares must be current on yearly vaccinations to include but not limited to VEEWT, strangles and R & F. The mare owner agrees that the farm may have the Veterinarian check their mare for normal breeding conditions, and to have the Veterinarian perform such other services, including sonograms, palpations, flushes, injections etc. as deemed necessary to insure pregnancy at the mare owners expense. Both mare and/or foal will be provided medical/emergency care, vaccinations, farrier care,
all as needed only at the mare owners expense.
7. We will not accept the following mares, unmanageable or dangerous, not halter broken, not broke to tie, older mares who have been barren for over 1 year, malnourished or underweight mares, and mares showing signs of disease or illness. These mares can come to the farm for breeding once they are well, or in breeding condition.
8. The mare owner understands and agrees that neither Shelly Pifer nor her representatives, nor stallion owner(s) will be responsible for accidents, sickness, injury, or death to the mare and/or foal; however she and her representatives will take all reasonable precautions in their care and supervision.
9.When both parties sign and return one copy of this contract to me, it will be a binding contract. Both parties subject to the above terms and conditions. This contract is not transferable.

Thank you for choosing a stallion from Chambers Springs Stables for your breeding needs and future prospect. Booking in advance will reserve your mares spot in the breeding shed. A weeks notice is required before mares can arrive. Mares arrival must be accompanied by health forms, copy of registration papers showing ownership, contract and booking fee if not already sent. Upon arrival a mare care sheet must be filled out to insure her stay is comfortable while at the farm. We look forward to meeting you and your mare. All mares must have hind shoes pulled before arrival or they will be pulled at the farm at the mare owners expense. As a commitment to settling your mare, and cost saving efforts to you we will offer 1 trailer trip to our Veterinarian while on the farm for breeding  and for 1 pregnancy check at no charge before departure. All other cultures, treatments, deworming  and veterinary charges must be paid for by owner before departure along with board or extra care options including shoer if needed.
