Report 1 - 19. July 2001
Since July 3rd I'm in the valley enjoy the sun and doing fine until I jump to a new career step. Everyday sun...that's outstanding...my mood is on a high fly...great.
In the mornings and late evenings we have the summer fog, but very convinient. Around 11am the sun breaks thru and then it's very hot. It's only a pitty that the sun set is so early around 9pm. (California is much more south than Germany)
I made myself a birthday present at independence day...I bought a new car. =;-)
Middle of august I hopefully get my working permit but until then I will discovery the area...cycling, hiking in the mountains, scating at the bay or just hanging around in the yard or a nice pool.
Yeah, that's the Californian way of life...update is following...not that much I expected because I prefer to stay outside instead in front of a computer.

Report 2 - 30.July 2001
Since friday July 27th, I got my work permit...my first official US document. Now I can start my american career investigation. Panic is in the valley this moment cause a lot of companies lay off or already layed of thousends of people. I'm very calm and optimistical...and if it take longer...no problem...after 11years ELSA...I have no problem to extend my vacation. =;-) I deserve this!
This weekend I visited the garlic festival at Gilroy. (south of San Jose) Evertything with garlic, they call themselves the garlic capitol of the world, from garlic butter to garlic ice cream. Last hype: garlic chocolade. I tried a lot and I smell like that and so here comes my recommandation: rattle snake in spicy garlic souce and as desert the pistachi garlic ice-cream. It's bad the festival finished jet...but rattle snakes...be careful see U next year.
Kino news: Kiss of the dragon: martial arts with Jet Li, a lot of action good entertainment.
Planet of the apes: Good remake with surprise at the end, middle little boring, over all ok,

Hi, no important news so I provide you some pictures from my last trip to SF. 10 am fog everywhere but slowly disappearing...it's overwhelming! Stay healthy. Peter
