Like a dream to her as thought had flooded back into her mind of that cat named Lincoln? She can still remember going to pick him out of the litter. She remembers what made her pick him. With his matted hair and the weird sounding meow it had, it was the runt of the litter and it had to be the ugliest one there she heard her mother say. But she fell in love with that kitten that she named Lincoln. She can remember all the good times they had form when she used to play dress up with it. The little kitten never seemed to care for it know what many of us will never know in this life true love. A love so pure that nothing that either one could do would ever change it. And with a sudden flash she is brought back to the present time still hunched over r the life less form of Lincoln the cat. And cry she did and sob she did. But then her mind started to wonder once again. She could remember how that cat would sleep at her head. It seamed funny how she could go to sleep and the cat was there at her head and when she woke up the cat was there at her head. And she also remembered the time that her parents had died and it seamed that no one really cared but there was Lincoln to comfort her and know that she was loved. For this cat that was with her through think and thin for close to 20 years was always at her side. And then she was thrown back to the present she doesn't know how or why but she bent over and picked up the body of Lincoln and held him close And with a startled cry she felt as if she had felt a heartbeat. And then there it was again but how she thought and why. Then it hit her for she know that her love for the runt the odd ball the little kitten that no one wanted had some how brought Lincoln back to her. And as she looked up in to the dark moonlit sky she saw her answer a shooting star she saw and she knew the god had granted her wish and give back what she thought he had taken. For god knew that there was no truer love then what this girl had shown to the kitten she named Lincoln. Now many years have passed almost too many it seams as sh thinks back it has been close to 20 years since that car had hit little Lincoln. Many of people had asked her how old her cat was she would always say that with a love as true as hers was for that cat there was no way to measure it life for she knew that cat named Lincoln would be with her for a long time to Come and this was the story of me and my kitten named Lincoln |
